I would have been happy with either Crouch or Lambert but as we have signed Murray I would think that both are now unlikely unless Tomer is going as they are all similar in their style of play. I would sooner it be somebody like Vydra or Akpong to compete with Sam Baldock as the 2nd striker.

Wouldn't be a massive surprise if David Nugent is now surplus to requirements at Boro, considering the calibre of player they are now trying to commute. Proven in Premiership and the last two clubs he's played for have been promote to Premiership, so knows how to be part of a successful side.

Have you SEEN his passing?
it's not what it used to be, don't know if he would get in the squad anyways

May as well throw in Kenwyne Jones (probably liked a throw in at Stoke)

Now plying his trade (but yet to kick off) in MLS.

No, he said "Premier League striker who's British."

Heskey? I heard from two people chatting who have no connection from the club that it was Francis Jeffers that we were in for that was around 6 years ago, so presumed they'd definitely be some traction on it by now.

That rings a bell. But probably ten years ago ?

Bob Booker at a SOL meeting mentioned it but told us what he was on in Charlton "reserves" which probably accounted for more than most our current squad wages combined.
