Brighton's best pubs - the new list

Just received my copy of the Good Beer Guide and there's an excellent selection of Brighton pubs

Basketmakers
Battle of Trafalgar
Bugle
Evening Star
Lord Nelson
Mitre
Prestonville
Sir Charles Napier
Station
Waggon & Horses


That's a much better selection than the one that was doing the rounds earlier in the week. I haven't been to the Bugle, Prestonville or Waggon & Horses for years so I should check them out.

There are also two pubs in Hove: The Downsman and The Neptune, neither of which I know

has the Mutre been revamped? last time i went (a few ago mind), it seemed like an old persons front room, with a bar plonked in the middle-

no atmosphere at all (unless you count the chain smokers..), and an odd 'youre not from around here..?' look when we went in..
