Kuszczak 6 - Kicking better but still needs to speed up his distribution. No chance with goals.
El-Abd 6 - He looked lost at right back - especially going forward. Better when back in his usual spot.
Dunk 5 - Not as good as El-Abd
Greer 5 - Struggled against a physical Millwall front line. Unlucky with header against the bar.
Bridge 6 - Steady but a bit below what we've come to expect.
Bridcutt 7 - Solid
Hammond 7 - Put himself about and was better then Crofts. Not sure why he didn't go up for some corners.
Crofts 6 - Workmanlike.
Lopez 7.5 - Quality from set pieces and good pen. Best game for us.
Buckley 5- Worst games for us? But he is allowed one.
CMS - 5 Really frustrating. Seems to only impress off the ball. Won the pen though.

Subs: LuaLua 8 MOM Great to see the real LuaLua back. Strong, direct and a real handful.
Barnes 7 - Wins free kicks for fun. Links up well and fights for everything. Brilliant...ahem..dummy to help win the pen.
Hoskins - Hair looked nice again.

Kuszczak 6 Did ok, Woods goals were pretty good so can't maek him down.
Greer 4 did wank all
El Abd 6 Did ok
Dunk 6 Did nothing wrong and unlucky to be the early sub
Bridge 5 forgot he was on the pitch
Lopez 6 would of got 5 but he got a goal but apart from that was total wank
Crofts 4 cr@p
Hammond 4 as above
Bridcutt 7 Thought he played very well came close to MOM
Buckley 6 Not his best today
CMS 3 Please Please Please let the rumours of Norwich being interested in him be true.

SUBS
Lua Lua 9 Changed the game once he came on - LAD!
Barnes 6 Did ok when he came on but nothing special
Hoskins N/A

Lopez 6? He played most of the game out of position, battled for the ball. His set pieces were 100% better than the ones he took against forest, plus always showed for the ball and hardly lost possession cheaply....

You're not that crazy man who sits behind me in East Lower are you?

Tomas -6- couldn't do much about the goals
El Abd -4- got bossed around by Wood all game
Dunk -5- don't know If taken off due to injury or tactical reasons?
Greer -4- gave the ball away far too easily
Bridge -6- steady performance from him
Bridcutt -7- got stuck in well
Crofts -5- ineffectual
Hammond - 5- tried to get the game going
David Lopez -8- good versatile performance. Can take a penalty and his free kick wasn't bad either
Buckley -5- not his best game tonight. Didn't worry Millwall
CMS -1- worst performance I've seen from him. Missed a sitter and don't think he found a Brighton shirt all night

Lua Lua -9- excellent! changed the game. Had immediate impact and set the tone for the rest of the performance
Barnes -6- came on and did well
Hoskins -5- not on long enough

Kuszczak 6 Nothing much to do
El Abd 6 Feisty as usual. Dreadful as FCB but solid in the centre
Dunk 6 Did nothing much wrong
Greer 5 Shocking distribution
Bridge 7 Useful going forward
Hammond 7 One of his best games for us - great saving tackle when I thought they were going to score
Crofts 6 Not great playing with Hammond
Bridcutt 6 Not at his best today, lost several battles
David Lopez 8 Excellent game, some lovely passing. Took a couple of decent free kicks and a great penalty
Buckley 5 Well marshalled by their defence, scarcely threatened all game
CMS 4 I like Macca but I thought it was the worst performance by a Brighton player this season - nothing went right for him

Subs
LuaLua 9 Awesome game. Terrified the Millwall defence
Barnes 7 Injected some urgency into the midfield - some nice balls
Hoskins N/A Very little time on

Kuszczak 6 - Arguably might have done better with Wood's second, but it was a fantastic shot - perhaps not quite as solid as he was a few weeks back
El-Abd 6 - As a right-back he offers no attacking threat at all. As a centre-half he was given a tough work-out by Wood, who beat him in the air more times than not. All in all, a bit below par
Dunk 6 - Did nothing wrong
Greer 6.5 - Reasonably solid but at times given a bit of a battering
Bridge 6.5 - Came into the game in the second half offering more of an attacking threat.
Bridcutt 6.5 - Solid
Hammond 7 - Quiet in the first half but became increasingly influential in the second
Crofts 6 - OK - still not as good as he should be
Lopez 8 - Had a dire first 25 minutes, but became increasingly influential with some slick passing, despite playing out of position. Good pen, well struck
Buckley 5- Well below par
CMS - 4.5 Worked hard but misses too many chances. Should have buried it before winning the penalty

Subs:
LuaLua - 9 Fantastic. On this form should be playing from the start
Barnes 7 - Hard, niggly sort of game suited him and made a decent contribution after he came on

The first half was as bad as I have seen Brighton play at the Amex. Embarrassing. Gus is to blame for the line-up. But the most of the players were totally incompetent. What about that moment when Buckley and CMS flattened each other when going for the same ball at the edge of the Millwall area. Truly comical.
Kuszczak 7. Not to blame for the goals. Good handling. Distribution better than Saturday.
Dunk 5. OK.
El Abd 5. Not one of his best games. Awful when playing on the right of a back three in the first half.
Greer 5. OK, but far too much dithering on the ball.
Bridge 7. Not his best game but did get forward a fair amount.
Bridcutt 9. The only one to play with any degree of professionalism in the first half. Great game. MOM
Hammond 6. Too often passing backwards again. Looked good in flashes.
Crofts 5. Can't remember seeing him do much at all. Anonymous.
Lopez 8. Ok first half. Excellent second half at RB and great penalty.
Buckley 7. Off the boil today. Seldom beat his man, passing was iffy. Nowhere near up to Saturday's standard.
CMS 4. Very poor. Missed at least two easy chances and gave the ball to Wood for their second goal.

Subs
Lua Lua 9. Turned the game around for us. Great cross two minutes after getting on the pitch from which CMS should have scored. His energy, skill and pace were a constant threat.
Barnes 7. Did OK.
Hoskins. Not on long enough but a positive substitution.

Gus 5. 3 for the starting line-up, but at least changed it. But NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Kuszczak 6 was ok but still loads better than Brez
Greer 6 not his best game but up against a very good attack
El Abd 6 As Greer looked better once Dunk went off
Dunk 4 awful game every header he made out went to a Millwall player could have been sent off lucky ref had already blown
Bridge 6 Comparatively quiet but again up against a very good attack
Lopez 7 sloppy first ten mins then grew into game improved after Dunk went off and again when Kaz came on, David is starting to show what he can offer I think he is going to be avert good player for us
Crofts 5 Not his best game this is like fat frank and Gerrard they can not play together neither can Crofts and Hammond
Hammond 6 Was ok even went forward on a few attacks would like to see him or Crofts bursting into the box time and time again balls into the box with just CMS up against the biggest defenders
Bridcutt 7 great player held midfield together
Buckley 6 worked hard but thought he skipped out of a few tackles
CMS 6 worked hard very difficult for him loan striker lacks composure I think it's all down to confidence

SUBS
Lua Lua 8 Changed the game and was more of the old Lua Lua is it because we are about to play Newcastle?
Barnes 7 will always win you time or a free kick just when needed
Hoskins 7 did ok for the short time he was on noticed Kenny Jacket made a point of shaking his hand at the end of the game I wounded if we might see Hoskins in Millwall colours next year?

We were a mess until Dunk went off that said first half we were very poor slow and Millwall were very good

Kaz made the difference and changed the balance of the game and Barnes also, David Lopez is the link player that can bind the team

Kuszczak - 7. Couldn't do a lot about their goals and his distribution was a lot better tonight.

El-Abd - 6. Was ineffective out at right-back until Lopez dropped in and El-Abd moved to centre back. Not a brilliant performance though.
Dunk - 4. Looked a little shaky and made a risky lunge moments before getting subbed.
Greer - 5. He strikes me as quite slow on the ball. Composed, but slow. Wastes vital seconds allowing the opposition to regroup.
Bridge - 7. Not one of his best performances, but still pretty good. Stands out above the rest of the defence.

Crofts - 6. Quite anonymous.
Hammond - 7. Pretty decent performance, managed to work and keep the ball well.
Bridcutt - 6. I think it was one of his worst performances for us. Got marked out of the game initially and his touch was a bit off. Improved in the second half though.

Lopez - 8.5. MOM. He made some great tackles in the first few minutes which set the tone for a great attack-and-defend performance. Unlucky with the free kick and a great penalty. Also showed us some of his skills and what he might be able to do in future.
Buckley - 5. Anonymous today. I thought he was being a bit brash when he tried to get the ball from their keeper while he was down.
Mackail-Smith - 3. I'm normally a fan of his, but he was poor today. First touch was consistently about 5 yards too long and gave away the ball for their second goal.

----------

Lualua - 8.5. Acted as the catalyst to change the game. Great goal too, hope to see a lot more of that in future!
Barnes - 7.5. Held the ball up well and won us a good few free kicks. Fortunately he scuffed that shot in the box to allow CMS to get fouled for the penalty.
Hoskins - n/a. Had a while on the pitch, but didn't notice him to be honest.

Millwall absolutely DICKED us in the first half, one of the worst 45 minutes of football I've seen at the Amex.

Kuszczak - 7 Saved a couple of good shots and was strong in the box.
Greer - 7 Seemed solid to me
El Abd - 7 Did alright out of position and kept strong. Took one for the team to get his yellow.
Dunk - 6 Very strong in the air but not on for very long.
Bridge - 7
Lopez - 7 I thought he played very well. And a great penalty.
Crofts - I can't rate as I didn't really notice him.
Hammond - 6 Some nice attacking play.
Bridcutt - 6 Didn't seem his usual self. His passing was a bit off.
Buckley - 7 He was quick on to the ball but we've seen much better out of him.
CMS - 6 Got into some nice positions but once again, failed to get the ball in the net.

SUBS
Lua Lua - 9.9 I don't like to give 10s. He completely changed the game and he was on top form.
Barnes - 7 He was determined to prove his worth. Got into some lovely positions and made some nice creative passes. He looked dangerous for the little time he was on.
Hoskins Not on long enough to rate. But he seemed decent.

Agree

Lua Lua 8 Changed the game and was more of the old Lua Lua is it because we are about to play Newcastle?

Maybe it's because he got a decent run-out for once? Vicente AWOL Rodriguez aside, I think along with Buckley he's our most indvidually talented player - yet he sometimes struggles to even make the sub's bench. He's fast, he terrfies defenders, creates chances, has a wicked shot and can take a decent free kick. We can't score goals, so why the hell doesn't Poyet play him more often? Completely inexplicable.

According to Gus, Lopez was MOM ahead of Kaz. How can that be right? (presumably he didn't see the moment in the first half when Lopez passed a free-kick in a promising position straight to a Millwall player and then 30 seconds later gave away a completely needless corner... Yes, he improved in the second half - but at times he was awful).

I'll have to see the highlights to make sure I got the right players*, but I thought Hammond and Lualua were above average, even good, most everybody else about average except for Hoskins who was poor again. Lopez did well, but he was allowed a lot of room.

e.g. * was Dunk at fault for the first goal? Crofts seemed invisible.

And Gus Poyet 6, got some things right and others wrong!

Some people thought Millwall were good and have not adjusted their scores. I did not think Millwall were that good apart from Chris Wood.

Maybe Gus doesn't like Lua Lua for ANOTHER reason, one which I won't go into due to libel.

That's pretty well how I saw it, although I'd probably mark Lopez down a point due to an ineffective first 30 mins or so. Although he had a terrific 2nd half.

Kuszczak 6 Did little wrong and not at fault for the goals
Greer 4 Poor
El Abd 6 Did everything asked of him
Dunk 5 Looked a bit out of sorts
Bridge 6 Fairly quiet
Lopez 8 Excellent game. Unlucky with two on-target free kicks, neat and tidy, only player capable of controlling the ball in the first half
Crofts 4 Game passed him by
Hammond 7 Steady performance, but gets an extra mark for his last ditch block in our box preventing a certain goal
Bridcutt 7 Thought he played very well
Buckley 5 Probably the worst game I've seen him play
CMS 4 Absolutely shocking performance. Would have given him even less if he hadn't won the penalty.

SUBS
