If the 'Government' Health authorities were really health concious then smoking would be banned altogether. There are clear links between smoking and Lung Cancer and proof that Nicotine is a addicitve substance. If fags were invented today they wouldn't be able to be sold on the open market due to the health and safety risks and quite right too. However, this will never happen. A packet of cigs is near on £5, £4 of which is Tax. The treasury say during the budget that this is done to 'Encourage people to stop' Bollocks is it! It is done to raise money for the economy on a soft target.

I dont see how you can ban smoking in public places. As it is a legal substance you cant ban people smoking it on the basis it is dangerous to their health & others because if thats the case it should then be banned altogether.
