Brighton Signed Shirt Charity Auction

Duh.......
Just thought I'd stick a post on to let you guys know about this item. My wife's involved with a charity auction to raise money to help support the RMCC House linked to the Royal Alexander Kids Hospital in Brighton & one of the items is a signed Brighton & Hove Albion Shirt from this season. Negotiations are underway & hopefully it'll be framed too (but no promises as yet)!

My reason for giving you chaps know about it is that I'd rather see this go to a real fan instead of someone who wants to make a killing on eBay. Hopefully that way it'll raise a bit more money for the house as well! :)

If anyone is interested, the Auction is on Monday 29th November at 7pm & is being held at Eastbourne Borough Football Club, Priory Lane, Eastbourne.

There are some other interesting bits too, such as a Replica England '66 Shirt (you remember, when West Ham won the World Cup! ) Personalised & signed by Sir Geoff Hurst. Another one is a years supply of Coca Cola (but make sure you've got a good dentist first).

And before you think I've just jumped in & nicked a part of your forum for advertising consider this: Would I really want to be on a Brighton Forum after the way my lot played against you?

Cheers lads

Do we have to be there to bid?

7pm in Eastbourne on a Monday night is impossible for those of us who inhabit London by day.

And do you realise how much Coke I can drink? A year's supply would be a HUGE amount!!

Ok, what they're gonna do is accept bids in the following manner:

Write to the following address:
Sue Thomas
Auction Co-ordinator (Sealed Bids)
McDonalds Restaurant
51 Terminus Road
Eastbourne
East Sussex
BN21 3NW

Send your name, address, contact phone number & the maximum bid you are prepared to go to.

Alternatively you can PM me the same details & I'll pass them on.

On the night, the bids will be calculated up in multiples of £5, so no odd pounds here & there please. You may not need to pay your maximum bid. For example, if you bid £60 and the next closest bid is £40, you will get the shirt for £45.

In order to maintain impartiality, I will not be bidding in this auction and will not disclose any information concerning bids.......... unless you're a bunch of tight gits! :D

Sounds brilliant. All the best with that. Just a tiny wee point (in case you're doing sending stuff to the local press, printing notices etc. The hospital in Brighton is called the Royal Alexandra, not Alexander. Cheers.

Shirt ended up going for £130. Top items sold were a pair of signed framed Chelski shirts for £600 each. All in all raised £3,500 for the House! :D

There was an Eastbourne Borough signed shirt too. That went for £25. Which is less than the cost of an unsigned one unfortunately. No matter, they'll soon be in the Nationwide Conference. Then watch out Leigh RMI! (possibly the silliest club name in British Football)

Wifey got me the signed Sir Geoff Hurst replica 1966 shirt as a surprise. Which was nice. :)
