Brighton Sign Millwall Defender on Loan

Of course, I'm just saying that this is a step back IMHO. This guy mat be a great player, McGhee clearly rates him. He's just not played any football at this level. Millwall are hardly blessed with loads of centre backs to keep him out of the side are they?

You think Millwall have a weak squad of defenders? Fair enough, but that's news to me!

Play semantic games if you want. The point I was making is that he is a little bit older, been around football a little bit longer, has experienced a few more different situations and challenges than the guy he is likely replacing in the team.

Have you already decided he'll be no good for us then? On the basis of, what?

no, im excited by this signing and reports from stockport suggest he is very good.

i was simply pointing out what chappers said/meant.

age does not mean experience. and hinsh, having been promoted and relegated in his previous two seasons as a first teamer is pretty experienced.

Fair points, but we'll agree to disagree on Hinsh being pretty experienced.

Didn't say weak, just said they he seems to be down in the pecking order at a club that is in the same division as us. He may well be decent but I won't be popping the champagne just yet.

I know I seem to be the only one on NSC who thinks this, but I don't think Hinsh has been entirely infallable since Christmas, and has been at fault for a fair few goals since then. If we had signed Cullip back, Hinsh would have gone back to the bench now, IMHO.
Well, I agree :)

im being ironic but it isnt amazing news, and LI, you're as gutted as all of us, you're just in the denial stage

I'd like to see him at right back if we're persisting with 4-4-2.

Surely MM wouldn't bother bringing someone in if he didn't think he was better than what is already available or would be suitable cover in case of further injuries. All that concerns me is that he can strike up a quick understanding with Guy, if he does come straight into the team.

It's one of those really difficult no-win choices McGhee has.

Reid has been a big part of most of the fluent footballing performances this season, he's one of the four or five players we have who can stroke the ball around on the ground and keep possession and build up our play from the back.

Yet would El Abd have drifted off the guy he's meant to be marking so readily in recent games as Reid has?

So who we pick depends on the strategy.

If we are going to "football" our way out of trouble, then we pick Reid and our more lightweight, passing midfielders and pray we don't concede too many.

If we are going to simplify our game like last season and play the direct balls to the two big targetmen up front, rugged midfield with Leon supplying the width and crosses, then El Abd is surely your guy.

But which route to salvation?

"Joe Dolan is a very good centre back. He was are main defender before he broke his leg about three years ago and has had problems recovering. McGhee will know allot about him,as he was in the promotion team when we won the first division. Hope we don't let him stay at Brighton though."
:)

London Irish, I wouldn't mind seeing Reid in midfield, whether on the right or in the middle.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Sad day really, unless McGhee gets the finger out looks like we have to make do with the scraps of the leftovers.

If both Marcus Gayle and Sasa Ilic turn us down, things really are bad, saying that tho we wont go down, but you would have thought that the Chairman might have delayed his holiday by one day to help McGhee make those calls.

have to agree with roougers. not impressed to be honest. and why has jarrett been lent to stevenage? ok so hes not the greatest but he has speed and we need midfielders
