Missed our first two goals as I was in the bar  :lolol:

Same here. Bloody typical. You watch the first 43 minutes of 0-0-ness then nip to the bar to beat the half-time beer scrum and miss two goals.

Happy to confirm that Doug Loft scored the third - tho he took one touch too many and came pretty close to making a pig's ear of it. He also fluffed a second-half close-range chance that was far easier to score than miss. Put in a massive amount of effort, for which hats off, but wouldn't want to be relying on him for goals in a hurry, even if he did score two tonight. Palace hit the bar and a post but the 3-0 is a fair-ish reflection of the play on the night. CKR had a quiet half, tho to be fair he was getting nowt in the way of service. Not quiet sure why he'd be playing half a reserves match if he's off in the morning tho. Doesn't make sense.

Veritable galaxy of stars there tonight including every Albion manager from Micky Adams onwards, bar Steve Coppell. Quite a photo-opportunity for the Argus if they got their act together. Also present were Ian dowie's marginally less hideous brother working in a Palace capacity, and also, according to the old bloke in the bar, the Lewes manager. Plus Teddy Sheringham and his gorgeous pouting Miss Something-Or-Other. His son Charlie, no.9 for Palace, had all the impact of a blonde Turienzo BTW. Before twigging that Teddy's son was playing, I congratulated Dick Knight on signing Sheringham as the new Albion striker. 'What?' replied the chairman, quick as a flash, 'He's Older than ME!'

I thought the best players on our side were Frutos who stood out above everybody else on the pitch, Loft who gave the best performance I have seen from him, if only he could do the same for the 1st team and Rents who looked capable and ready for a first team debut.

How did Sam Rents play?

He didn't really have much to do. So he didn't do anything wrong but neither did he do anything to suggest he's good enough for the first team.

I was disapointed by Elphick again. He does some things very well but struggles in a physical battle when a striker backs into him and he cant cope with that. So not ready for the first team IMO.

Breach suprised me. I always thought he was shite but he palyed well.

Fraser did okay, his goal was a tap in, in a goal mouth scramble. Nothing to suggest he's first team. Lofts two goals disguised his performance. He done alright but I'd hoped for better.

Impressed with Chamberlain. Not sure he's ready either for the first team but he got involved well.

Frutos looked very dangerous but never gets his head up! Jakey did pretty well. CKR played well too.

Just shows how this game is about opinions as posted earlier I thought that Rents Loft and Frutos all played well.

Frutos had the beating of their back everytime and tokk him on. Rather suprised that he played on the right being left footed like Chris Waddle used to and cut inside.

Loft had by far the best performance I have seen from especially in the 2nd half when he was instrumental in all the moves down the left. Perhaps that is his standard.

Rents was compact. competitive and got the ball away quickly and efficiently. Thought he looked like he could be making his league debut very soon. Palace no 7 according to the match sheet was Tommy Black and if it was then he has been about a bit and Rents contained him quite easily.
