Yes - me - i work there!!!v :lolol:

It's true - Trotster's got her photo in the racecard to prove it.

Much as I love it, the quality of Brighton Races is just SO much pants. Example: Jonny Ebeneezer dumped his jockey on the ground in the parade ring, galloped away to the mile and a half start and back again TWICE and still won the 7 Furlong seller. Don't say an awful lot about the strength of the opposition aye?

Other random observations:

1. well played to the racecourse for taking on board NSC criticisms of the last meeting - there was a set of portaloos marked ladies toilets available after the mile long queue on Albion raceday - nice one!

2. Bob booker and Nikkkkkki Sheeeep-Shaaaagin presented the trophy to the winner of the fourth race. Decent interview with BB, who fielded all the Falmer/Cardiff questions with a straight bat.

3. While I've got the Trotster's attention, maybe, can I just say that tho it's fine and dandy to have a semi-secret bar up on the first floor, there's only about seven or eight sets of tables and chairs up there - and a wide expanse of floor. More tables and chairs please H. Go on go on go on.

And all credit and respect are now due to THPP for tipping the 2/1 winner of the Irish 1000 Guineas bejeezus!

Hi Ross - how did your football bets go this season?

My pre-season ante-post selections were absolute rubbish, worst ever in fact, but I'm proud to report that I had my best ever season on the fixed odds. I've found the relaxation of the rules so that we can now back individual matches in each division a real godsend! Also, the Racing Post's form guides on Fridays are better than ever, especially their recent form tables.

The Conference was the happiest hunting ground for me. I found that I could back Chester and Hereford to win away at odds of Evens, 11/10, 5/4, etc, on a regular basis. Those two were streets ahead of the rest of the teams in their section, but the odds were still very attractive.

Next year's CCFC season ticket was paid for by football bet winnings for the third year on the trot. Which was nice. Now all I've got to do is avoid giving the money back to the bookies during the flat racing season.....

Nah, not in members, just talkin about the bar in the main (eleven quid) enclosure, the bar up a set of stairs next to the cashpoint machine, next corner round past the pay phone - one floor down from where the Elite Racing club was today. So that's the first floor right? I'm sure the bar has got a name, but as I chucked me racecard away I got no idea what it's called. But it's dead easy to get served in there. Tho it's only got about half a dozen table&wicker chair sets in there. so most people end up propping up their pints on the window sill or taking them outside - which is probably verboten but heigh-ho there you go.

Tell you what H. - get us an Access All areas pass for the next Sunday meeting & I'll show you EXACTLY where it is

Well DAVE, me football bets this season have had mixed fortunes. Ranging from bad to worse to complete shite. Take that 80/1 bet on Bobby Zamora to be top scorer in the Premiership for example... Lucky I had it each-way aye?

Have redoubled my stakes on the Albion to go up since we made the play-offs - currently holding a few 7/2 vouchers - but was about four seconds away from doom, as indeed we all were - on Thursday night. Made a shitload on Man U. @ the cup final (the whole LOT came in - number of corners, total goal minutes, more than two goals in match etc. etc.) plus a couple of Henrik Larsen scoring bets on the Scottish Cup Final. But mainly sticking to 2-0 & 2-1 correct score bets at this stage of the season. You get odds of 7/1 or thereabouts but the results come out every other game.

But - hey! - no need to creep mate. We are both only too aware that Big Brother begins this coming Friday, and THPP ALWAYS picks the winner of that ante-post at prices of up to 12/1. Watch this space...

As I recall, the last time you sent me a PM was to insist that I go out and back Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne to be the Xmas number one at 16/1. Hmmm.

I had some pre-season crackers on the football this year: Shaun Goater to top the Divison One goal charts and Tranmere to win Division Two were my best efforts.....

:nono: :censored: :nono:

I went to Brighton races sporting my new Brighton Flay off Finalist T Shirt.

Had Brecon Beacon £ 20 to get £ 30 and Woman in Love £ 40 to get £ 220.

Made a ton on the day.
