From today's Argus:
McCammon is keen on Albion
by Andy Naylor
Albion transfer target Mark McCammon claimed today he could thrive in the Championship with the Seagulls.
The Millwall front man wants to be reunited with Albion manager Mark McGhee, who signed him for the Lions from Brentford.
McCammon, 26, was on the brink of joining Albion on loan last month, but the move fell through at the 11th hour because the Seagulls could not afford him.
McGhee is hoping a deal can be resurrected now that Albion have landed a lucrative tie away to Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup on January 8 (3pm).
McCammon, who was on the bench for Millwall at Wolves last night, said: "Things are up in the air at the moment.
"I have got the upmost respect for Mark McGhee. He brought me to Millwall, so I would be keen on Brighton.
"A move was agreed the night before Brighton went to West Ham. I had prepared myself to come down there on a month's loan, but it all fell through because of my wages.
"Until last night I hadn't been involved in the Millwall squad for the past three weeks after putting in a transfer request.
"I think that is the reason I haven't been playing, rather than not being good enough. When I get a run of games and my confidence is sky-high then I can do a job at this level."
