**Brighton & Hove's WORST PUB World Cup - GROUP C**

The Spanish is currently closed for (seriously much needed) refurbishment. Word has it will not even be called the Spanish Lady when it re-opens on the 21st of May. The place has been a dive for as long as I can remember, but I have some very fond memories.

No matter what state it's in, it'll be a very sad day if they really do change the name - the Spanish Lady, named after a sea shanty, I believe. Whatever happened to that much-needed campaign to get pub names listed?

Mash Tun has a job to do, it's shit but it adequately fulfills its function. I would not go to the Spanish Lady ever, total dive.

Jeez, surely all those should be in the running for the BEST pub in Brighton and Hove? Honestly, I'm not saying this for effect or to provoke a reaction, but those are all decent boozers. Even the Stanmer (my local) is a decent place nowadays.
