What a cock that Chesterfield bloke really is. We have a far greater history as a town (sorry, City) then Chesterfield (a dull northern industrial dump) will ever have. They say our current ground proves we have no soul, which just proves how thick they are, not appreciating why we play there and dis-regards the fact that their ground is arguably the biggest shit-hole in the entire league.

As the Large One said, chesterfield is welcome to that twat. We will we go on enjoying the south of England and our history, such as the Royal Pavilion, no history or soul is there!!:shootself

Brighton Leave Foul Taste Again

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet another visit from Brighton and Hove Albion - surely the divisions smuggest set of supporters - left a foul taste in the mouths of Chesterfield supporters. Stockport ans had warned us of their cynicism.

From the moment Ben Roberts punched a ball well outside his area under the eyes of the referee and didn't get sent off you just new it was not going to be the Spireites night.

Brighton's manager described the referees performance as 'excellent' but the radio couldn't show that MaGee had his tongue firmly in his cheek.

But what a cynical bunch this Brighton set up is. The referee turned his eye to every bone crunching tackle they made but yellow carded 4 Chesterfield players for innocuous incidents.

Has there ever been such an insufferable set of fans. Begging for help one minute slagging off teams the next when it suits them. Can anybody in their right mind support their campaign for a new ground? The best thing that could happen to them is that they are made to stay at the Withdean; drop into Division Three and eat a bit of humble pie.

Please write to John Prescott. Point out to him the enviromental damage a new ground will cause. Support the local residents who have a right to a peaceful life unencumbered by the noise and nuisance of a football ground. But above all tell him ehat most football fans know; that they simply don't deserve it.

As a long term fan of chesterfield, who was unfourtunatly not at the game tuesday, i would like to say well done, your away form this season hasnt been too gud but you came with a game plan and went away with three points.
I was at all the recent away games against Brighton, and whilst the things that happened, ie brown envelope waving and playing the songs you played wasnt nice, i dont hold any grudges. I like to have banter with Brighton fans, especially on Football forums, but thats another story.
I dont think you will get promoted this season but you are one of the stronger teams in the league.

On another note - the falmer stadium - this wont make or brake your club - if you dont get it u will lose positions in the league but u wont go out of business, if u do get it u need to make sure everything is secure - ie making sur that building the stadium wont ruin the club financially.

anyway good luck with that

This is rather fun, they spy on us and we spy on them...

Re: Brighton fans to complain on biased report?

From the above message board by Brighton fans:

Surely Chesterfield are bringing the game into disrepute by putting this on their official website. Anyone who thinks so can contact the FA: info@the-fa.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------

btw, those of you that were there - was Roberts' punch outside the box, as they claim in that report? I, for one, wouldn't be too surprised - if there is one thing that really grips my *** when I watch Roberts, it's his refusal to stay anywhere near his line, and to go rushing to the edge/out of the box at any opportunity.

No. He was a foot inside his area (and both feet inside it as well)
It was right in front of us so I would stake my life on that being right.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

We couldn't really tell from our view as we were at the side. But the ref was in line with the edge of the penalty area and had a good view. At that speed it is very difficult to be 100% accurate and I think the ref will give the benefit of the doubt to the keeper - especially as it's a red card offence.

As for the report - seems like a different game. No doubt they're covering up for how poor Chesterfield were.
Whats that *** about Zamora i remeber that match and there sh*t kepper lost the ball didnt he

i know bobby did not kick it out of his hands
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Something must be done about someone writing that on the offical site.

it takes the p*ss yes the ref was not great but he was not bias he was just p*ss poor we had poor decisions given against us but they forget them

If i remeber we where the better team and they never looked capable of pulling a win out of the bag

----------------------------------------------------------- -------

What a complete load of twaddle these Brighton fans write, I seem to get the impression they think we lost fairly!

How anybody can say that a hole like Chesterfield has soul is beyond me. Brighton has it's flaws but I really con't think of one good reason for living in a town that makes Stoke look glamourous.

They're so tragic and we should feel sorry for them.

An amusing post as the pillock seems to be attempting serious sociological analysis. His conclusion is that unless a team grew up in a kind Hovis, Ripping Yarns' Barnstoneworth setting the supporters are doomed for ever to be shallow and devoid of true feeling. No hope for us then.
My Dad gew up in Barnsley, the definition of 'its grim up North' and moved to Brighton in is 50s becoming a dedicated Albion fan.
Surely he would have detected our lack of soul.

High up on the South Downs.
I find their comments on refs amusing because in the 0-1 game in Div 3 Mike Riley let them kick us throughout and then sent Oatway off for an accidental trip in the centre of the pitch. Secondly, the brown envelope protest was an attempt at humour..... far nicer than being called a rent boy! Thirdly the idea that good players all come from grim industrial towns is so far off the mark that it is quaint. Europe's number one soccer city is now Paris!!!!
The only accurate thing from Chesterfield is that our fans are arrogant. I think this is true but is probably a defence against the asset stripping of our club and the abuse we get from all the macho northerners and cockneys whose best players usually come from south of Sussex.

Wankers.

The fact is that they cannot accept the fact that we beat them to the Championship of the third division by more than their 9 point deduction. They also can't accept that they should have been thrown out of the league for their dealings.

A very bitter set of fans from a shit hole excuse for a town.

Unfeckinbelievable. Brighton has no soul? Since when is having had heavy industry an indicator of soul? As far as I am aware, amongst other historic claims, "Sussex By The Sea" is the second oldest song still sung at football matches. A marching song sang by The Royal Sussex Regiment before going over the top in WWI. The people who write this kind of twaddle, whever they come from, should at least get their facts straight first. "You can tell them all that we stand or fall for Sussex By Sea". Amen.

Calm down everyone. All clubs have a few tossers as fans, let us not condemn all of them for one's (or twos) flawed comments.

It's weird really we have been on the end of such a lot of good will lately from other clubs, but all this fuss about Falmer really seems to get on some peoples tits too.

Also banter at games between opposing fans at games cannot really be construed as being two faced, it is just banter.

What this cheaterfield fan neglects to mention, and the reason why i hate them so much (possibly more than the cripples) is that many of the fans actively backed their crooked management, and threated fans who spoke out. Meanwhile, the vast majority simply stuck their heads in the sand as it looked like they where going up. Real fans with soul would have made a stand against the chairman and his cronies, and would be ashamed of what was happening.

If i was a fan up there, i would have found it more honourable to have stayed down and gone up the following season with the new management.

Oh, and they cant seem to get it in to their stupid heads that we went up with more points irrespective of the points deduction. muppets

Does anyone like Chesterfield? I mean I know we're not liked at some clubs but f*** me, everyone hates that bunch of arseholes. Amazing, considering what a tin pot club they are, and their drab, shabby, dreary poxy little town crammed full of chavs, trollops and inbreds is not the sort of place to foster jealousy either.

There's a sign on the way in that says "Welcome to Chesterfield". I tell you what, they are indeed f***ing welcome to it.
