Brighton/Chesterfield rivalry

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's all very bizarre this banter with the Brighton fans. Yes we had a dodgy chairman but that has got nothing to do with the everyday fan. What seemed to upset the Chesterfield fans was the way we were treated by everyone at Brighton. It seems that in the absence of any genuine tradition (remember there is no history of working class, heavy industry in this relatively new south coast tourist town)BHAFC fans, and Brightonians themselves, have got a large chip on their shoulder. The bile thrown at CFC fans was just the latest attempt to create some kind of soul at a club that essentially doesn't have one. Their athletics stadium epitomises this perfectly. Having lived in both towns I know where I would rather live, Chesterfield may have it's problems but at least it's got soul.

Relatively new tourist town? We have a large chip on our shoulder? We have no soul? So what there's no heavy industry here.

This person actually prefers living in Chesterfield than Brighton because it's got soul. Mmmm-okay mate. :shootself

Chesterfield has no industry in it either. The Peak District is lovely, but it does not justify having to marry your sister.

Fact of the matter is that Chesterfield (as a town) is famous for but two things:-

A crooked spire and a crooked football team.

Damn I wish I'd lived in a slum and been part of the oppressed working class in order to have a soul.

What century did that wassock come from ?

High up on the South Downs.
Brighton is an older town than Chesterfield. Sussex used to have an iron industry , does that mean it has soul. What a lot of rubbish! If the fool knew anything about Brighton he'd know that it used to be a railway town where locomotives were built. I think he's confused us with Bournemouth.
Anyway we've got more locally produced players than they have.

being from donny (near chesterfield) i can assure you chesterfield has no soul at all. its a nothing town in sheffield. brighton is a lovely town but i dont know much about its history. i do know the history of the football team and it is far greater than that of chesterfields. and the soul of the fans have kept brightons football club alive. far more than what chesterfield fans could dream of. plus i would much prefer to live in brighton or doncaster than the shite hole that is chesterfield. thyis guy is having a laugh i think. either that or a young kid that has not got a clue. :lolol:
