Yep, berry bridges was well past it when he played for us. Didn't last long once Clough arrived.
You have to remember that it cost loads to get northern based players to come down here. Somebody has to pay their housing costs, even on a free transfer, and a veteran player with family is unlikely to move for a short term deal.
This is why it's difficult to get the cast offs from Man Utd, liverpool, newcastle and the like as they will stay up north whereas we have more chance with London based cast offs.
