I was surprised when we only gave him 2 years, you could see he would play in the prem even last season. Sentiments of the original poster are right, we should prioritise this a.s.a.p.

Think we need to finish August bringing in Harley, a defender and one other luxury player if someone special out there. Then more of a priority to re-sign who we have rather than spend anything in January. If by August we're still this good, we can budget for staying up, certainly know by xmas if continue in current form.

Was always confident Bridcutt would make the step up to Championship football, but he has far surpassed that in the games already this season. Lad has a great future ahead of him

Which a Premier League club failed to see -preferring the 'buy success' option rather than nurturing what they already had. What did we pay for him? Best part of sod all wasn't it?

I remember seeing him at Posh away last year. One of his first games - but, for me, he was outstanding. One that we may get BIG money for in the future. Oh well, Chelsea can afford not to make anything on him.

their loss is our gain!

Chelsea released him as they considered him too small to make it in the Premiership. They told him to concentrate on playing a simple game...i.e fetching and carrying, in that slot in front of the back four, breaking up play and short simple passes. They said that if he did that, he would have a successful career below the Prem.
That was their judgement. IMHO, at present, he is our most important player and on form/potential could play at the highest level.
Fully agree that he should be on the longest contract possible.

I love Bridders I do. Also my favourite player. I find myself just watching him masterly control the game at his pace.

He's got a good engine on him, very good on the ball and quick to intercept/close down/make a challenge and win the ball. Great player and the sort of midfielder that you need at the heart of your team
