One of those rare artists of that era whose music I know in some depth, thanks to my Dad who's been a massive fan ever since they first arrived on the scene.

What an icon, and what a musical catalogue.

My condolences especially to our @Surf's Up. Chin up, mate. A great innings. I hope you got to see him. I did at Wembley 75, but he was unwell then. The renaissance in later life, and the joy he must have had finally recording Smile, and having all that adulation......I hope he got something from it.

David Gilmour's armpit
I had the privilege of seeing him a few years back at an odd little festival in Preston Park. Quite a coup for the organisers back then. He was old, infirm, couldn't hit the high notes, but I was nonetheless totally star struck. A legend indeed.
Yep, I was at that one and even the rain couldn't dampen that Beach Boy vibe. I think Brian Wilson did far better than I expected and I too felt I was in the presence of a true legend.
RIP indeed.
