He will be missed (and is already). Thank you for all the music, the memories and the anecdotes that made for such fascinating listening!

End of an era
will his show survive ?
Brian had one of those voices that you took for granted , always gave a feeling of comfort to know that he was still here ,
RIP Brian , your boots will be hard to fill !

My favourite Saturday morning listening. Gone.
RIP

This is so correct.
I endured 10 minutes of Dermot's Breakfast, gave up and turned to Gold until Danny Baker was on Radio 5 at 9-00
Saturday mornings will never be the same.
RIP Brian.

Those golden tones will be so sadly missed, whether remembered back from the days of Saturday Club in the late 50's, early 60's, or a wonderful history of rock n' roll he narrated on BBC2 [I think] in the early 90's, and, of course, Sound's of the 60's will never be the same again. His knowledge, stories of the stars, who played on what recording was phenomenal - sleep well Brian and thank you for everything.

Very sad. Would it be weird to rerun his old shows? The people who contacted him would still be chuffed to hear their names again and the Sixties music and insights would be just as interesting.
