Tranmere will unveil Brian Little at a press conference on Monday afternoon after he agreed to become their new boss.
Little, who has been working as a pundit for Sky TV, takes over from Ray Mathias who was sacked two weeks ago.
His first game in charge will be the LDV Vans Trophy first-round clash at Blackpool on Tuesday.
Tranmere were thumped 6-0 by Plymouth at Home Park on Saturday and will parade Little at a 2pm press conference.
Mathias, who took the club to the brink of the play-offs last season, was sacked following a miserable start to the campaign, with John McMahon taking over on a temporary basis.
Thank God he's out of the running.
