I was talking to an ex-Port Vale player who works at our place. He was asking what our form was like, and I said we hadn't been playing that well, but that the performance at Rushden was very good.
The situation at Port Vale is similar, they are getting results but aren't playing that well (he said the 3-0 scoreline against Peterborough in particluar was very flattering).
I was then complaining about our situation with managers, and he said we could have Brian Horton back as far as he was concerned.
I said no thanks. I think in hindsight the best thing Nobby did as manager was to walk, as it ushered in the Micky Adams era.
