Why? The proof that the UK consumer will pay 91.9p per litre is already there for all to see.

The UK consumer pays that price because they have no choice. I don't particularly want to pay this much for petrol, but if I don't then I can't get to work, can't pay the rent, can't eat, etc etc.

So we agree then - the consumer does pay this price.

*Obviously* the consumer would rather pay less, but in the case of petrol, they would rather spend the money than go without, whatever the reasoning.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. I just put £20 worth of petrol in a week, so the price never changes for me anyway.

What you also seem to be forgetting is that petrol stations are often few and far-between, and driving around to specifically find a certain company is not always an option.

Also, for example, i today filled up at BP garage, on a drive from Holyhead to Aberystwyth. Had I been boycotting the company, I COULD have driven past, but with the tank running empty and little knowledge of the road ahead, that would be a bit stupid wouldn't it?

Personally, I tend to use the petrol that is there when I need it.
