So next week I will spend a night in 3 different tiers, and mix with over 100 different families.
Maybe we should have a poll on how many tiers you have been to in a week.

Come midnight tonight I will have been in 3 different tiers at home in the last 5 days - before Wednesday this week tier 2, Wednesday to Saturday tier 3, tomorrow onwards tier 4. Don’t know how long until the next tier change, but suspect it won’t be until next year!

I can barely imagine what full Lockdown was like now. I recall going out and there being hardly anyone around. Journey to work was almost spooky. Looking around these last couple of months, you wouldn't have believed there was a virus raging through the population. And that naivety has got us back to square one.

So you don't think there should be any rules whatsoever if they inconvenience some?

It really sucks with regard to your neighbour but the alternative could be many more die through covid. Rock and a hard place. Unpalatable choice but for me Covid takes priority.

But people die anyway. We can't keep having a lockdown, then come out of it to have another lockdown a few months later.

I'm at risk because I have to work. Who gives a **** about key and essential workers?

Like you, I am a front line key-worker and felt a little under appreciated at times. Watching NHS back office workers who'd never stepped foot into a ward get free travel, priority shopping, free McDonalds etc. I wasn't fussed about the pot banging :)
So we have no choice but to keep going. But we keep our jobs I suppose. Anyway, I digress - I'd quite enjoy a hibernation lockdown for 6 weeks every December. I think they should think about it. A "circuit breaker" every bleak mid-winter.

First day back in our pub today (Bristol). We obviously encouraged people to follow the guidelines but we can't do things like prove who is in what household.
We can't keep an eye on every person who legs it to the toilet or for a fag without their mask. etc etc etc
Now we still haven't seen any stats that suggest transmission is particularly high in our industry, but people really don't care any more. They're tired, frustrated and confused. And selfish, i guess.
It's really not hard to see why there is such a problem.
Either we need to go in to a proper lockdown, UK wide, like lockdown 1, or there is no point.

Then back into lockdown. Is this how we are going to live our lives from now on?

Just in spells of weeks, sometimes months.

I think and hope we’re in the last one now. Saved by the vaccine and spring 21 weather when we’re not all kooked up indoors spreading.

Yes, this is hellish compared to our lives before, but in the big picture just a small part of a lifetime.

Obviously total empathy for others who will be affected seriously by all this, employees who’ve lost jobs, businessmen who’ve lost so much.

Totally deluded if you think Stammer would do a better job.

Stammer?

Christ.

Shame on the two dimbots who gave you a thumbsup.

No wonder we are the sick man of Europe.

I agree.

And I wish you all the best in your industry. It must be tough.

How exactly.

Ok here we go, you state let people live their lives how they want to. Correct?

So here I am, living my life. Protecting my disabled wife, who suffers from a very rare lung disease. Not her fault but is caused by mutated hormones.

She has been a prisoner in our home for 9 months. Myself and daughter have continued to work to pay bills, for food. My job is specialist but requires me to work away and in contact with others and in very public arenas. A horrible situation for me.

It has been obvious since spring that people have to act responsibly, many haven't. Regardless of political ideals, the message has been to be responsible, many have completely disregarded this and continued their lives. There's no way every situation fits all so there's a level that each area is supposed to adhere to. They haven't, so we get a lockdown. People moan and still some carry on as if it doesn't affect them.

People are responsible for their own actions, not the government or the courts, they themselves. Unfortunately there's too many selfish runts about that the government have to take action.

Am I annoyed? Too right I am. Those that deny there's an issue are idiots, those that complain their Christmas is ruined are idiots, ****ing grow up. I couldn't give a flying **** about Christmas, I give a **** about a complete ******** giving my family a deadly virus that could be avoided.

If you can't understand that you're one of them.

The up and down are seasonal. The size of the up is managerial. Boris has proven himself to be the Bryan Gunn of management.

Just for the record can you clarify how many times you have modestly mentioned/claimed you are a key worker on NSC?

I suspect he's one of them.

Stay safe, and I send you my best wishes. After vaccination your lives will change. Let's hope it is soon and not cocked up by this, the worst of all governments.

I'd imagine the majority on here are quite happy for him to tell us as many times as he likes. If previous post haven't that one truly exposes what you are.

Thank you.
Truly, and i say this directly to you as a key worker, every body I know in our sector (lots of people) just wants this sorted. We thought very, very hard about re-opening but what can we do?
