Why not, he could be good. It would be nice to see our manager coming over the end of the games and giving it the 'WHALLOOOPPPPP' like Bob does.

Give it a couple of days and the players will start saying how they would love him to get the job. They always say it, I bet Oatway will be first, but Dick, NO!

Just think Wood and Hinshelwood. We CANNOT do that again.

His current relationship with the players would be his undoing. You can't go from 'office clown' (and I know he's a lot more to the club than that, but he IS the office clown aswell) to gaffer in one go. Short term they'd play for him, 'coz they like him, but long term his previous japery would undermine his authority.

I prefer seeing our assistant manager doing that.

No, we MUST get someone with a proven track record.

We'd have the manager who could do the best Freddie Mercury impersonation.

we love you bob booker, and the relationship with the players is fantastic, exactly what an ASSISTANT manager should have.

no doubt he'd to a good job but not know he's like he is with the players. we CANNOT promote from within again, it'll just be the same all over again...

he's only saying he would be interested in it (which of course as the No.2 he should be).

But he seems to understand that he may not be the first choice here.

Can we not up him to Head Coach or summat. Assistant manager is a bit of a millstone at this club (especially when 4 managers in have left in 2 years and he hasn't been offeered it once!!!)

Neither Dave Merrington or Stuart Ashby made the transition at Southampton. I think that being too close to the players effects the new role, and if Bob Booker wants a Manager's job he may have to move elsewhere ???
