Has anybody had any experience of claiming Bona Vacantia estates? Do you know if you can find out the value before making a claim? How time-consuming is it? Thanks in advance.
That's what I was worried about!Afraid not. But given that the asset now resides within Central Government, who are likely to want to hang onto it, and given the fact that you'll be dealing with lawyers and civil servants to get it, I'm guessing that it's extremely time-consuming.
Good luck.

There is, and I found who I was looking for. We're definitely the sole heirs, but if it's only worth a few hundred quid it won't be worth the effort. Was wondering if anyone knows if you can find an estate's value.I thought there's a openly published list.
The BBC series Heir Hunters, shows firms specialising in that field, perusing new lists as the government publishes them.
Am I the only one who saw the title and opened this thinking it was going to be another holiday advice thread?![]()
And me, I was disappointed not to see an " I'm going on holiday " tag at the foot of the page.
