Being a Bolton lad this is just so sad for the town - I think the club have totally forgotten about their fans and thought only about shareholders making a profit. Unfortunately Gartside is taking the brunt of the blame when in fact its not his choice! Quickquid are a nonsensical company who don't deserve the chance to advertise throughout the Championship.

No doubt the main people complaining about it will be the same ones complaining about why they can't spend £10 million on a striker. Just like at our place when the price of a pint went up 20p.

Tin pot proper tin pot

I agree with this sentiment . In saying that a certain mr freedman went there for a quick quid ( as his kids needed feeding ) so I feel it's rather fitting .

Freedman surely made the biggest cock up of any manager this season? Greedy prick :lolol:

Ex team in the prem, new team still in the championship.

If I'm honest though I can't help but think what if freedman had stayed... Maybe palace would have finished 2nd and Brighton would have won the playoffs...

We are sponsored by a credit card company. Whilst obviously having the lower interest rates, offering payment protection and other membership benefits etc. Do a lot of people not use credit cards on the same principle as payday loans? Spending money that they don't currently have then paying it off at a later date. How does having American Express as a sponsor sit with those who don't like the payday loans companies sponsoring football?

That's a very simplistic view.

Do you really need it spelling out?

Most of American Express's business is corporate, dealing with organisations who know what they're getting in to and their personal business is with people who are vetted financially. They are also an integral part of our local economic infrastructure.

Payday loan companies do business with people who are often vulnerable, often desperate, often have been refused credit and often do not understand the implications of paying credit at a rate of over 1000%. That is why they've been warned by this (very laissez faire) government that if they don't get their act together then they will be legislated against.

To be fair to the guy, they more or less doubled his salary. I'm not saying he was skint in the first place, but if you got offered a new job at a company which (on paper at least) looked better run, with better facilities and so on, for twice as much money, wouldn't you take it? Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I appreciate it might look like he screwed up currently, but who knows how your relative fortunes will pan out in the long run.

Cash Converters, sponsors of Hull, offer pay day loans too, yet seem to be largely escaping the stick dished out to Wonga and so on.

and in that reply many would agree, what is the difference to them and a loan shark ?
