I once wrote asking for an autograph, but his agent replied only sell signed pics..

That's sad, I used to like that program.
I remember him also being in a comedy series, I think he played the part of a rich bloke, who owned a house and rented out the rooms.
Can't remember what it was called but I remember a rather attractive dark haired actress was also in it, along with a tall fair haired chap who ended up in Eastenders.

Martin Shaw has always been a bit snooty about probably his most famous role in an attempt to be considered a more serious actor.

Apart from being a cracking show to relive as a kiddy it also facilitated the excellent Comic Strip Presents spoof ' The Bullshitters'.

I thought the Cuckoo Waltz comedy show was not bad either as Diane Keen was quite hot and Collins as the rich bloke Gavin drove a really cool De Tomaso Pantera car.
