Apologies if it's been posted on here today already, but this is from today's Evening Standard:

'West Ham made it two wins from two games on their Sweden tour with a 3-1 victory over Friska Viljor last night.

Bobby Zamora, who netted a hat-trick in the Hammers' 5-0 win against Umea on Tuesday, scored two with Marlon Harewood also on target.

Manager Alan Pardew said: "Marlon and Bobby looked terrific. The two of them already look on song which is good news. Overall, the performance was spot on." '

I am genuinely pleased for him. I still want him to do well, especially to show Tottenham they were wrong to him.

Please Bob, have a minor injury when you play us though.

Good on him, he really needs to have a good season this time around to prove that he can do it at this level with the pressure of playing for a bigger club.

He's a real confidence player and if he (and West Ham) get off to a good start, I could see him as top goalscorer in the division.

Know what you mean Yorkie. A Danny Wilson / Barry Fry / Sir Anthony Rougier type reception is only right and proper when the teams come out, but it'll be just a tad weird treating BZ like a bloke in a visitor's shirt during the game itself. A minor injury that keeps the lad sat on the bench throughout would be by far the best solution. Tricky one to call ???

Bollocks, I'd LOVE to see Bobby at Withdean this season playing for West Ham. I often wondered how Cullip would deal with Zamora if they ever played against each other, and there's a good chance we'll find out now.

Personally I'll be very disappointed if Bobby doesn't play against us, I'm looking forward to seeing him again. A Sheringham-Zamora partnership would be quite an attraction.

Bobby Zamora has got off to a good start on the pre-season tour of Sweden.

Bobby has bagged five goals in two games, and Peter says that he showing the form that the club knew he had in him when he was brought to the club from Spurs.

"I am delighted with Bobby; he has scored the goals, although he missed a penalty in the first game, and there is no question about his abilities.

"He just has to understand that he is playing for the first team week in, week out, near enough, whereas at Tottenham he was a bit part player.

"So he has to get used to high pressure games twice a week and sometimes mentally that can be draining more than anything else.

"He needs a good pre-season under his belt knowing he is going to be challenging for the first team."

I reckon the signing of Sheringham will be good for him, someone clever like that will create a lot of chances for him and also teach him a thing or two.

Absolutely. For Hammers fans and neutrals. For us it'd be a f***ing nightmare.

Maybe, but come on. THIS is why we wanted promotion...big teams, big-name players, big reputations, and a chance to drag them all down to our level and see them HUMBLED.

I guess Bob did one of his nonchalent "roll-it-along-the-ground-into-the-corner" ones. I've seen draft excluders that would keep out a BZ penalty kick.

Sure. Totally agree. But not OUR big name (former) player, y'know, the one that they sell DVDs of in the club shop and half of us have signed artefects of, and a fair number of us want to see do well. All I'm saying is it'll be weird.

i totally agree with easy. i would love to see bz being kept out by a massive cullip performance. and us against the big teams, with the best players is good to see.
also i want bobby to do really well. but seeing him playing against us will help some people finally realise his loyalties are no longer with us. even if he still likes the club.

Cullip & Butters v Zamora & Sheringham?

I have always thought Cullip a better defender than Zamora's forward abilities. Butters v Sheringham (combined age 154) would be a like a pub match with the lardy one just battering the striker up in the air til his pacemaker fell out.

I was thinking more of the Postiga or Zamora scenario. I felt that Spurs never really gave him a chance.
