Bobby Z - what do you think now?

I will always be eternally grateful for what BZ did for our club, but as time goes by, I increasingly feel that we were bloody lucky to get £1.5 million for him in the summer.

I am also more and more annoyed at the way that he sulked his way through most of last season - his heart just didn't seem to be in it any more.

What do you all think now that the dust has settled?

Don't think we have seen the best of him yet in the premiership and I think he will be worth more than £1.5m in the future. I think he's a legend. Simple as that.

Bobby Zamora

My feelings about Bobby changed after the game at the Britannia Stadium in March.

He really looked as though he couldn't be bothered. A ball was passed to him and he didn't try to reach it or put any effort in.

Considering that game was a six pointer was such a disappointment. At the time I was being generous thinking perhaps he was 'under the weather' but even that couldn't disguise the fact that he couldn't be bothered.

I wish him all the best and hope he does well. Respect? Not sure about that.
I respect players who play their heart out and do their best like last night. Maybe not the most skilfull but plenty of heart.

So probably, no, I don't respect him but still wish him to do well because he was one of ours and helped us achieve the championships.

That ok for you dwayne?

Remember that even as an Albion player he played several times in the England Under-21s, in preference to a number of Premiership strikers, therefore his ability is not in question.

However, if you combine the games he's had for the Under-21s and add these to his matches for Spurs you see a lot of football at a high level with no goal return. It's all about taking your opportunities when they present themselves, something Bobby has, as yet, failed to do.

Personally, I think Bobby will score goals in the Premiership eventually, but it will take him at least half a full season to adjust. Right now his confidence will be low but he will get more chances. Kanoute and Keane looked sharp last night, and Postiga showed quality touches.

I still think £1.5 million was right, even despite his start.

I don't think there can be too much doubt that it is largely due to him that we are a promotion chasing Division Two side today rather than a top half division three side.

It was a shame the way it all ended though. It was so frustrating the way he played towards the end of last season, desperately trying not to get injured late in the season when we needed to be scrapping for everything.

In a funny way it's a bit like Jimmy Case (great player, shame he ended up as manager) in that I will always love what he did for us, but wish he had maybe been sold whem we could have got a lot more from him. Hindsight - wonderful thing.

However, just to add a rider to that, if that bastard Kenton hadn't crippled Bobby for eight weeks at the start of last season, we would have secured the points we needed to stay up and his fear of injury that would block his big move would have been irrelevant.

Shame, the way it goes, but when he leftm, the club was in a much better state than when he joined, and that is due to him in very large part.

Absolute legend for the club, whenever people used to ask "who do u support" and u answered Brighton, the first thing they would say is Bobby Zamora.
We could still be languishing in the third if he hadnt come along and we certainly couldnt have afforded players like Leon Knight.
Didnt think Tottenham were the right club for him but now Hoddles gone maybe it will be

can't believe anyone could have the nerve to cuss him.

He is beyond criticism and is one of the most important players in the clubs history.

Respect.

Never liked him. Couldn't tackle, couldn't defend, never tracked back ....

Only joking. It was good while it lasted but it was undoubtedly going sour towards the end of the season. Would Spurs get 1.5 million for him now? The new guy might let him go for 800-900,000 to someone like West Ham.

I never thought he was premiership class, but I'm sure that he could do really well in a team at the top of division one. I do worry about his future at Spurs, though. When he next gets a chance he'll have to do really well in a short space of time to get on there.

I've no less respect for him than when he was here. But maybe I felt a little intimidated by others' views, and didn't say what I felt then. He's the best player I've seen play for Brighton & HA.

yeah true, but i get that now already with knight.

Zamora was class, top scorer 2 seasons running and helped us achieve 2 back to back titles!great 3rd/2nd division player. In the first he never really cut it and he didnt work hard for us last season!Look at robert earnshaw, already has 2 hat tricks and 12 goals, hes proving already, more than zamora did in the first!

And for a premiership player, he cant really tackle, cant head (which is unbelieveable with someone his height) and doesnt track back!

GREAT NATIONWIDE PLAYER!dont reckon he'll cut it in the prem!

DID RESPECT HIM, BUT NOT NOW AFTER LAST SEASON! wish him the best though!

Whatever we thought when he was with us, it's now over, finished, and we move on.

He plays for someone else now.

The King is dead, long live the King ( Leon ) and all that.

( Sorry, never been one to idolise people just because they play for the Albion ).
