Didn't he have an op at the end of last season? Has he had time to recover and get a full pre-season in? If he's not ready then he's quite likely to be a disaster and never get picked again - but that's perhaps what Fabio wants?

I don't think so, he was in the frame towards the end of the season and HE ruled himself out due to needing an op. He's not an out and out striker, he has a very good footballing brain and can be a fantastic link man. Like Teddy Sherringham, but mobile !:laugh:

What the hell have Wilshere and Gibbs done to warrant a call up, apart from being Arsenal players?

Just curious, like, I'm sure they're supposed to be half decent but they've done bugger all so far.

Wilshere played really well on loan for Bolton last season. Gibbs had been fighting Clichy hard for a regular place before he got injured and is pretty obviously the natural successor to Ashley Cole.
