I don't think so, he was in the frame towards the end of the season and HE ruled himself out due to needing an op. He's not an out and out striker, he has a very good footballing brain and can be a fantastic link man. Like Teddy Sherringham, but mobile !

Wilshere played really well on loan for Bolton last season. Gibbs had been fighting Clichy hard for a regular place before he got injured and is pretty obviously the natural successor to Ashley Cole.
