Cheltenham caretaker boss Bob Bloomer has confirmed that he will apply for the manager's job on a permanent basis.

Bloomer, who was first-team coach under Bobby Gould, has taken charge at the club since Gould's departure.

He told the club's official website: "I've been at this club now for almost 11 years and everyone knows the feelings I have for the club, the fans who have been so good to me over the years and everybody else who has been associated with Cheltenham.

"You don't have to ask me for too long how much I love this club and it would be an honour to be the manager."

If Bloomer uses his loaf, and Cheltenham get a slice of good fortune, their season may turn out OK.

Are you just trying to butter him up.
He believe players are eating too much before a game, and he will not let them have a whole meal on Saturdays anymore.

i believe their defence has looked abit flakey in recent games so he will need to sort that out ..one crumb of comfort though is that he gets on well with the players
