In 2006, the last year for which data (warning, Excel spreadsheet) is available, the percentage of the UK's population that is foreign born, at 10.1%, is below the OECD average, and lower than that in Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, or Austria.

f*** the BNP, theyve reached the limit of their vote. Unless Cameron screws it up and the middle classes start going over en mass they are as puffed up as they can be.

Why not leave them to their small moment of glory and get on debating the issues that caused their rise in the first place rather than a bunch of race haters who get hard ons watching old nazi news clips?

there's a voice of experience

Hmmmm, it must have gone up since this poll because 15% of the prison population in 2008 was foreign born................that is unless foreigners are committing crime above their demographic of course?

It is an interesting point to note that foreign prisoners are offered a financial package of upto £3000 if they leave voluntarily although it would appear that this generous offer by the UK taxpayer is only taken up in about half the cases which seems bizarre.

Those released in 2007 included 50 killers and attempted killers, more than 200 sex offenders and more than 1,500 drug offenders.

Some people think the BNP policies are mad!

From BNP manifesto

Strict environmental controls on industry. 'Polluter pays'. Reverse the planning mistakes of the last forty years.

Would that include falmer? Sure we've started, but they want to reverse decisions from the last 40 years, so many of them will be further down the line than Falmer.

Who would the BNP be more likely to side with: the traditional british village of falmer, or the liberal cosmopolitan, tolerant, multi-cultural brighton and hove city?

Have those opposed to uncontrolled immigration shot themselves in the foot by voting BNP?

I mean it is most likely the debate will be:

BNP: [Get rid of non-whites, racist rant]
Liberals: [well reasoned argument that blows BNP out the water]
Debate over.

We don't get a proper debate about the issue of immigration, the pros and cons, the needs for tighter controls to ensure people aren't coming in to sponge on state benefits, or use our free health service etc., while still letting in those that genuinely need asylum or who are coming to work and put into our economy.

Dur! That's because the British crims are all living as 'foreigners' in southern Spain innit.

It’s because of this experience that I am reassured when I see individuals from etnic communitoes wearing England shirts and supporting the country they were clearly born, educated and making their livelihood in.

I'm sure you will not see them wearing football shirts from the Indian sub-continent countries, but do they support England when it comes to cricket?
