Yeah, I’d describe his behaviour as going “full Delia” but clubs don’t get to choose their owners.

Fans at PL level are largely left to hope that the giant multinational conglomerate taking them over has a vague interest in football as well as secured debt.

We’ve seen both sides, which is why even when the club make decisions we struggle with, the owner and CEO have an almost inexhaustible supply of goodwill. Not a great look for Forest, but I don’t blame Nottingham Forest for that, it’s the fault of the individual that owns them.

If nothing else, it could make for a pretty decent crime drama.

Would probably end up being on Channel 3 though.

I've always had a soft spot for Forest. One of my earliest away trips. Still at school, we clubbed together and hired a coach from Plumpton Coaches to go to the League Cup quarter final. We all bunked school to go to the game. Sold-out ground, couldn't see a lot but saw more than those on the Seagull Special which broke down just outside Nottingham and never got to the ground.

IIRC Forest were Europen Champions at the time. We got beat. But happy days. Been up a few times since.

That is entirely reliant on wrong 'uns having been caught and convicted though.

Say, hypothetically, you owned a fleet of ships, and the port authorities located a couple of tonnes of illegal drugs, let's say- entirely randomly- heroin, in the cargo hold of one of those ships. If you were never charged by the authorities of the country where your ships were registered, then you wouldn't show up on any wrong 'uns list would you, because of course you are categorically, unequivocally and most importantly legally not a wrong 'un.
I've had a number of conversations with the Greek owner of the place we stay at on Crete re Marinakis. Admittedly, he is a Panathinaikos fan ... but he has very strong views on Marinakis - especially the shipping/drugs charges that disappeared - and how Olympiakos 'bought' the Greek league title on many occasions.

To answer the question Red, I agree with you, it wasn't a good look and whatever the wants to cover it up with, Nuno looked very uncomfortable/awkward. Worst of all I thought at the time the owner ignored his handshake offer which I think Nuno thought he was coming over for. It maybe the owner didn't see that as Nuno was in conversation with his ex-player, but it demonstrated that he wasn't there for anything else than to express his frustration. Very awkward to watch and I am sure horribly uncomfortable for Nuno at the point of what is ultimately a huge achievement for the club, despite the recent drop in form.

He seems a dreadful character and the rule breaking is why I am not on the “oh isn’t it amazing what forest have done” train.

Yes they have managed to get into Europe and only been done for financial doping once, it’s a miracle.
