I haven't followed the story religiously, but having seen what he did on Sunday I thought it was pretty pathetic and I would have expected it to have been done behind closed doors, and possibly dealt with on a Monday morning once everyone had calmed down rather than on the pitch in front of the TV cameras on the day

It felt like a dick move by Marinakis, and as you suggested I wouldn't have been surprised if Nuno had turned around and said "stick your job, we've had an amazing season and you do this?" but he doesn't seem to be that sort of character (I'd have loved to see what happened had it been, say, RdZ as manager).
I wonder how Brian Clough would have handled it

This is the way a football chairman should show their passion on the pitch

Whatever the reason it made him look a bit of a dick.

I think my bigger issue if I was a Forest fan is the press release put out later basically hanging the medical team out to dry while lionising him as someone deeply caring and treating every one as family.

All in all, not a great look but it's not going to change people's opinion of Forest in general. They/we will just think their chairman is a bit of a nobhead.

From Marinakis wiki in relation to a drug traficking case against him: 'In January 2021 and after 10 witnesses of the case have already died, and after reviewing the case, the judge came to the conclusion that there was no evidence implicating Marinakis.'

Should be remembered that he's not a particularly nice guy irregardless of this overblown incident.

Judge clearly has a self preservation gene in overdrive!

Nuno probably does too!

“Some Forest fans are defending his actions as passion ?”

This is just an excuse for crap behavior. Being passionate does not mean you act like a knob.

So, kind of like having Tony Soprano as chairman

Still non-plussed about a certain aspect of this. You say a fan would get a banning order. My understanding is that currently he is technically only a fan having spirited away ownership of the club, however temporary that may be. So yes surely a banning order ensues or a precedent is set for others to use?....

I believe he still owns the club but has put the shares into a blind trust and appointed a trustee to run the club. This means he has no control over the club, to comply with UEFA regulations, which also means he shouldn’t be running onto the pitch as it makes a mockery of the idea he isn’t in control of the club.

As others have commented, regardless of the reasons he gave (which I don’t necessarily buy), that level of public theatrics is not helpful and is clearly done for his own egotistical needs and is no good for ANYONE else associated with the club.

If the Blind Loyalty aspect of the question is ‘should I distance myself from the club because of that incident?’ then the answer for almost everyone would be no, but if you see a wider array of morally dubious actions then you might have a reason to make a judgement on that. An example of that being Man United fans fed up with The Glazers who gave up watching them to start a new club.

It always entertains me, this kind of classically mediterranean over the top nonsense - he's just being a greek bloke!

poor old Nuno doesnt half get it in the neck - did great things at Wolves and then got disillusioned by them demanding more and more on ever thinner resources, did half of a decent job at impossible job Spurs before being bounced out for the classic big name nonce-sense in Conte, and now at Forest he's going great guns but with a massive - literally and figuratively - knobhead to deal with.
I think everyone can agree than Nuno is a) a good fella and b) has a lovely little smile. i like him lots.

The whole story about his actions immediately after the final whistle being down to his deep personal concern for the health of Awoniyi is, quite frankly, bollocks.

There's no way at that stage he had the first clue that there was a serious injury involved when even the player himself and the physios weren't aware of how bad it was. He might have been miffed at the substitution screw-up, sure, but as others have pointed out, if Forest had won the game, he'd have been absolutely fine. Instead, he's fuming that they threw away a lead and taking his rage out on the manager.

Personally I find it entirely distasteful that he's painting himself as some kind of beardy Florence Nightingale and using Awoniyi's medical misfortune to justify his own embarrassing behaviour.

Thanks for the input some great posts and points, I’ve took the liberty of contacting my ex wife for the definitive answer to the question as that one never got anything wrong 🤨.

Personally the PSR issue didn’t bother me as the rule had been in place but not enforced and we were one of several clubs that had flouted the rule, we were charged punished and moved on we were given praise at the hearing for the transparency shown throughout the proceeding, then his TV smashing antics I laughed at as it’s out of his pocket, the Clattenburg debacle and tweets was stupid and a bad look, but then we moved into the spitting on the floor in front of referees and officials, that’s witless and classless.

In any other industry behaviour like this would be frowned upon and for what it’s worth I’d not be keen on having anyone close to me in that sort of environment.

In Tony Bloom BHA have rung the bell although he mightn’t always make decisions you all agree with but he does always have Albions best interests front and centre, do you want a swap ? 😉

I know Nuno and Fab had a bit of a do on the touch line last season after MGW poor challenge but if you watch any of Nuno’s interactions before or after the game he is so mild mannered, even on Sunday in my opinion he tried to defend the indefensible.
