I’ve said before many times that I find BHA fans balanced, humble and fair so I thought I’d ask if I’m reading the situation with our owner Evangelos Marinakis correctly.

His latest show just adds to the list of issues and dramas he’s been involved in, it is well documented online regarding accusations levelled at him which I won’t go into but I didn’t like the look on Sunday, petulant child sprang to mind going on the pitch and having a pop at Nuno, as the owner he can go anywhere in the club but then in my opinion he’s compounded the issue with two statements ( the second was a letter to himself in my opinion) it wasn’t a club statement it was a poor little me, it’s rare I agree with Manchester‘s mayor Gary Neville but if Nuno tossed it off I’d not have blamed him.

Some Forest fans are defending his actions as passion ? a proper fan would get a banning order if he’d shown the same so called passion,

I’m of an age where I care as much about how Nottingham Forest are perceived off the field as winning on it, the goodwill we once had from other clubs is dwindling away and in some quarters I agree the look is embarrassing.

The argument I've heard that he was not remonstrating with Nuno on the pitch, but passionately expressing his opinion about the injury issue is largely irrelevant. the fact that he APPEARED to be remonstrating with his manager, in front of a global audience is the problem.

Forest are a storied, decorated club who deserve to be back in Europe and winning trophies - but Marinakis is a thug (and a cheater - see Forest’s points deduction last season plus the allegations against Olympiacos) and his involvement does put a damper on the club’s success this season for me.

Whatever the issue was, best saved for a private chat once all the facts of the situation had been gained. Angrily walking onto the pitch, before he could have possibly talked to all involved to understand what really happened, and having a moody chat with Nuno for all to see shows division in the ranks. & shows an erratic, knee jerk, hot-headedness that's not ideal in an owner.

Should have been done in private but can absolutely see the concern with how the player was treated.

In general @Redinpeace I have a lot of time for Forest based on the fact it’s (normally) a good day out and your fans were (mostly) magnanimous after the 7-0. But don’t ever do that again, yeah? :moo: :lolol:

You can understand his dismay at keeping an injured player on the pitch, but he obviously doesn't know the rules in terms of batches of substitutes, and that none were available to Forest having already made 3 substitute batches already.

But why the need to storm onto the touchline, why not just wait in the tunnel and talk calmly to Nuno when the was returning to the changing rooms, or better still in a closed room, away from the limelight

I haven't followed the story religiously, but having seen what he did on Sunday I thought it was pretty pathetic and I would have expected it to have been done behind closed doors, and possibly dealt with on a Monday morning once everyone had calmed down rather than on the pitch in front of the TV cameras on the day

It felt like a dick move by Marinakis, and as you suggested I wouldn't have been surprised if Nuno had turned around and said "stick your job, we've had an amazing season and you do this?" but he doesn't seem to be that sort of character (I'd have loved to see what happened had it been, say, RdZ as manager).

His manner would suggest his success is down to being a bully, probably instilled in him from his wealthy father from whom he inherited a successful business. Greek businessmen are renowned for their dodgy dealings and Evangelos Marinakis has certainly had his. His actions here are probably the norm in Greece. It doesn't sit well with many in this country.

It's a shame as Forest have a great deal of respect from many older fans of the game but it is becoming tarnished imo. The fact they bent the rules and survived hasn't helped.

Would he have shown the same concern/passion if our very own Facundo hadn't come on and changed the game sunday?
A 2-1 victory and he probably wouldn't have been on the pitch.

Couple that with the injury which we all know was avoidable it may have tipped him over the edge.
Lord knows why they let Anderson go off when it seemed pretty clear that Awomyi wouldn't be able to continue.

But at the end of the day he should NEVER have been on the pitch, and it did look terrible, but also wouldn't change peoples perception of Forest.

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
its difficult sometimes to get a grip on this sort of thing, having Mr Bloom as our chairman I kind of hold all other chairman to his standard of class

So practically everyone will fall short.

There is no doubt the Forest chairman could have handled all of this way better., in private... it is so easy to deal with.
Its a terrible look, and you just know he won't learn from it and will repeat at some point, as has already been shown

Passion is all well and good... we had a manager for 18 months that just could'nt control that/and when to keep his gob shut... as much as we loved him it could not continue

However its vastly different to being a Chairman.

Having read about it first and then watched the footage, it did feel a little bit like the descriptions exaggerated the situation. However, it clearly would have been better conducted in private.

As a one-off incident it doesn’t bother me much. The wider context/ stories about the chairman do seem to be of more concern.

Still non-plussed about a certain aspect of this. You say a fan would get a banning order. My understanding is that currently he is technically only a fan having spirited away ownership of the club, however temporary that may be. So yes surely a banning order ensues or a precedent is set for others to use?....

This is the way a football chairman should show their passion on the pitch
