To be fair, as most of the decent football-related posters have long since left NSC, it is hardly surprising that the current resident CACKBADGERS hold such sway.

Pity, but not surprising.

What game were you watching?? We created several decent chances in the first half, and they scored one rather lucky goal. :nono:

I didnt go so i cant comment, but my brother in law texted me to say the same as you....

I am more worried about the gate....5400 odd? with 750 Southend in the ground?

I really do feel the club need to seriously look at the pricing structure....irrespectyive if we end up losing money we have to get "bums on seats" when the weather is half decent....come November and it could be gates of 3000!!!!

We were poor first half, played like the away team.
But even if we won 6-0 every week, they'd still find something to moan about.

I was watching the game where for large parts of it Southend pushed the ball around without too much trouble.... also i watched us ping balls at Forster who had no hope of controlling them.

I also failt to remember many decent chances in the first half, Revell hit the post but other than that i only remember a tame header from Martot.

Until Bas came on, we weren't in the game

We has 14 shots (7 on target) compared to their 5 (3 on target).

Not all of those were in the last 15 minutes.

my god, no we didn't

we we're toss till we went 4-4-2

Indeed, leaving Forster up front on his own was a mistake, and tactically we were like the away team, Southend played some neat football in the first half, but luckily didn't do too much damage until their goal, which was soft.

sensible question time - do we all really think that taking £5 off a ticket will increase gates significantly?

Football tickets do not generally have price elasticity - it is more down to the product on offer. If we keep winning then crowds will increase probably by more than if we halved the ticket price. It is cheaper for me to go an watch crawley but I choose not to because i'm not interested in the product.

it really don't matter how they played 3 points is all that is important. Playing well comes with winning and the confidence that is gained from that. Lets be honest some people will never be happy

matches my view - winning is a habit. you have to learn to win before you can win well. We had enough good perforances with no points last year.

Thing is, possession and attacking play in the opposition's (general) area, will result in goals, soft or otherwise. They earned their goals with good pressure and build-up play. We did have a few chances other than the goals, but it was our getting forward and 'the cat among the pigeons' close to goal, that got us three goals from the game. Towards the end, perhaps Southend might be criticised for still going after all three points and putting us under the cosh again - their positive play was always at risk of opening the field up for countering moves and attacks.

Amazing innit. I've long since mad the decision to just steer clear of this place after a defeat as it's just such predictable garbage, but I thought the post-mortem to what was a tremendous last 20 min display would be somewhat different.

When was the last time we came from behind to win a game with two goals in the last 5 mins or so? When was the last time we scored three times in the last quarter of a game? When was the last time we scored three goals at home? When was the last time we won two home games on the trot? Let's just relax and be happy with six points from two home games.....
