Remember at the time of the questions over WMD's Blair got into the habit when being questioned of giving a little smile and a knowing raise of the eyebrow as if to say "well, if only I was allowed to tell you what I know" ......

..... well he knew naff all.

Sorry Tony mate, but trust has long gone. And you should be too.

I agree with you, but who do you replace him with? Charles Kennedy hopefully. I've had enough of this government.

as a member of the working class i have got more employment rights and job security out of brussels than i would ever be permitted to get by an unfettered british establishment

small example

my employer(one of the worlds largest industrial giants)has closed the final salary pension scheme to new members(i am all right .i am in it)totally illegal in france or germany, they have been stopped from doing the same to colleagues over there

Unfortunately. it is down to personalities.

Thatcher played on the Iron Lady.

Major was alright but classed as boring that cost him \totry support.

Again, Haque actually came up with good ideas that should have won the middle England vote. But his party didn't like nor the right wing press.

Personally, I find it hard to vote Labour nowadays. I joined the Party when I was 16. discussed being at Counsellor at 18. When it was not trendy to support Labour in Brighton.

Its Ken for me in London and the Greens.

Why do a lot of people Vote Ken, cos he is generally Principled over his politics and he does a strange personality.

Ken was such an effective politician in the eighties that Thatcher was forced to abolish the GLC. Speaks volumes that B.Liar has an equal downer on the bloke ???

What? Thatcher closed down the GLC because she is a control freak who wasn't getting her own way. She did it out of spite.

I couldn't vote that vampire in. The country would be ashamed and we would be the worlds laughing stock.

We're both agreed there then. Maybe I could have put it better, but Ken Livingstone is a HERO

Here's a random quote from Google:

Elected leader of the Labour-run Greater London Council back in 1981, [Ken Livingstone] used the position to challenge the right-wing populism of Margaret Thatcher and oftentimes embarrass the Labour Party’s more cautious national leadership with his calls for sexual equality and gay rights. Livingstone was described as ‘the most odious man in Britain’ by a leading tabloid newspaper for his contacts with Sinn Fein, but nevertheless endeared himself to sections of the public by slashing fares on the bus and subway system and fighting a clever campaign with taxpayers’ money to prevent Thatcher's abolition of the very institution he led. Despite his efforts, the Iron Lady was able to impose her will and Livingstone bowed out in style at a publicly-funded valedictory concert on the South Bank of the River Thames. As the bells of Big Ben chimed midnight, he led the adulatory crowd in a rendition of the song made famous by forces sweetheart Vera Lynn: “We’ll meet again”.

Like I say, a total HERO

Ah yes, I see now. I don't consider him a hero but I do respect the fact that he has principles.

His obsession with the buses gets on my nerves though. Nothing to do with the fact that he doesn't have to maintain the bus network infrastructure then.

Also his bandwagon jumping on the England rugby team made me puke, especially given his ridiculous egg-shell treading, pandering to those who somehow consider the St Georges cross an offensive item. ??? And his use of public money to promote St Paddy's day. Grrr!

Ken's got the buses,

The tubes are basically his now and soon the trains.

Public Transport is a big issue in London, without a good system most people are F*****.

IN the last few years it has got better and better.

The recent fare rises are a pain. But.....

But what else can he do.

The Govt. is opting out of its responsibilities to fully support it.

The transport system is unique in the UK its a national transport system in a local area.. Half of commuters are from outside of London plus Tourist's, why should Londoners have to be "taxed"on it.

LC

I like Blair, though I can see it's not a popular point of view. That's not to say I agree with every every decision made by this government, but I think they're doing a reasonably good job.

Obviously it's easy to criticise, and name policies that you would prefer, but I think that Blair is trying to govern and please more than one point of view, and of course that is bound to produce policies that some sections don't like.

I like Ken too, though I prefer Blair to him, as I think Blair is able to see situations from a wider perspective. But if you like Ken's view of the world, then obviously you would prefer him to Blair, as with Ken you know what you're getting.
