TRUE STORY: Outside Bristol Zoo there is a carpark where cars and coaches can park. There was also a nice bloke with a hat and ticket machine charging cars £1 and coaches £5.This parking attendant worked there for about 25 years , then one day didn't turn up for work...Ho hum say Bristol Zoo management- Better phone up Bristol City Council and get them to send a new parking attendant......
Err no say the Council...That car park is your responsibility...Err no say Bristol Zoo the attendant was employed by you wasn't he....Err NO!!!!
Sitting in his villa in Spain is bloke who had been taking the car park takings for Bristol Zoo for the last 25 years...

That is amazing!

There was a guy that was charging £4 a day by Brighton Station. It wasn't his land, but no one would claim it. 50 cars or more a day for quite a while.

I received this from a mate in an email, I presumed it was true, strange to make up a story like this maybe it was some time ago but as you say it might just be a story. When you see them you should ask if they know of this.

er...... and what do you do for a living that pays so well, and is tax-free?

He could probably also hire some temp to work for him while he took holidays!

There doesn't seem to be a victim in this crime, except the punters - who still got attendant parking, which no doubt some official party or other would have capitolised on if he hadn't.
