Got to stay over. Its Blackpool!

Spoke to a mate who had been recently and he said he went into this bar at 2.00 p.m for a drink and it was just like you would expect a club to be at 2.00 a.m. Cant Wait!

Buy Cheap Train Tickets Online - Save up to 80% - redspottedhanky.com

Got there last year for £25.
Brighton - Euston £5 -£7.50
Euston - Manchester Piccadilly £12.00
Manchester Piccadilly - Blackpool North £6.50

You have to book each journey seperately.
They deliver free and there is no booking fee so it's cheaper than trainline.com who charge for these.
I flew to Spain from Manchster Airport the next day so double it for return to Brighton.
Hope this helps.

Split the journey, try buying the EUS-MAN portion of the journey as two singles.

Good call. Its a pain in the arse & a lot of time spent on train company websites, but you can save yourself a small fortune by doing this. I'm not sure if the train you are on has to actually stop at the station where you are splitting your ticket?

There is a website somewhere dedicated to just that subject I believe? Also the Moneysaver website has an ongoing thread about the subject. with suggestions & loopholes to exploit the fare structure of the Privatised Companies. Supposedly, a lot of Rail Company Pricing Managers follow the rail forums to spot the latest split ticketing options. Quite often, those cheaper options disappear at the next price change in January.

Typing in "split ticketing London to Blackpool" should enable Google to spit some idea's back at you.

An unofficial minibus is the cheapest way, hire a bus, fill it with people and drive there and back.

We did that last year for £22 each

Provided 1 or preferably 2 are prepared to not drink and to drive as it is a long way approx 300 miles each way from Brighton to drive in 1 day. Although I did drive both ways to Carlisle once but wouldn't do it now.

Four of us going in one car.

Works out pretty cheap on petrol.

Problem is we have also booked into a decent hotel (yes there are some in Blackpool!) so with two nights on the beer, it might not work out so cheap!

Mrs T said she would like to go and see the Blackpool illuminations so I had suggested a weekend towards the end of October and she had agreed. I'd planned a tacky B&B to get the full 'dirty weekend' experience and whilst I went to the match Mrs T was going to go shopping. Both of us would be happy. Saturday night would be curry and beer etc etc ;-)

And then we received a bloody wedding invite for that same Saturday. F***, S***, B******s!!! Some people have absolutely no consideration for others whatsoever. And the wedding is in Dunfermline!!! Jeez, makes Blackpool look nice!

In my younger days I drove to nearly every ground in the country Brunton Park,Roker Park, Ayresome Park, Bloomfield Rd, Gay Meadow, Home Park, Wardys debut at Hereford the 2nd Div decider at Newcastle you name it and I have driven there and back same day in as was in those days in an old car that was not as fast or comfortable as modern cars, some with no heaters or radios. In fact I drove a lorry non stop from Dundee to make kick off at The Goldstone for the cup game to see us lose 4.-0 to Walton so please don't try to tell me about hard core supporters as it doesn't wash. Been there, got the T shirt and bought the program. Unfortunately much as I would love to I am not able to drive those distances now at nearly 70 years old as I tend to get tired and fall asleep.

never said you weren't hardcore or have been, all i am saying is that we do it every week..

This allows hardcore fans cheap transport for every away game,

It is interpretation of hard core fans as you describe yourself. I would class a season ticket holder or 1901 club member who also spends money in the shop at The Amex more hardcore and beneficial to the club than somebody who goes to away games because they enjoy the day out.

If you dropped the word hardcore from your statement I would agree with it as it gives fans a cheap route to away games.

1901's might be more beneficial 'to the Club' as you put it but is it possible that travelling fans might be more beneficial 'to the team'. How many away wins have you seen this season compared to wins at The Amex?

In financial terms it cost far more to go to away games last year than at the Amex. Will be worse this season with all those games in the grim North. 'Cheap' it isn't.

I use Brighton coaches, North street Portslade he has two large 16 seat minibus that we hire for away matches plus race days, drivers must be over 25 years but they only cost £100 to hire and dont have to be back for the same day.

These are more like small buses than coaches so they have loads of room
