Anyone got one ? If so what do think, are they any good.
I've got an ipad, but my wife wants one of these, you can get a 64gb for £250 which I thought was quite reasonable ?

My mate got one to take on holiday for a week as he had some work bits to do in the evenings, and didn't want to risk taking his laptop. Gave up using it after 2 days, slow, laggy, awful web browsing, poor GUI.

Depending what you want to use it for, I'd go iPad or some kind of tablet PC.

RIM (Blackberry) seem to have lost their way at the moment and their finances don't look too sound.

If you love Apple get an iPad, if not get the Transformer Prime. It's fricking immense!

I struggle to see the attraction of any of the I-Pad type devices - all they are are PCs without keyboards. I guess people get all caught up with the "wooshing of the finger" function because it looks cool. You can get a decent light weight laptop for a fraction of the price of an I-Pad. I guess Bozza will now be banning my account

OK, clearly some people have a lot against BB on this thread...

I have the 32Gb version and I love it - no lag on apps or browsing at all... I use it for Kindle to read books, browse occasionally, emails, a couple of games which my 3 yr old son plays, remote control of my laptop whenever I need to, checking twitter, tapatalk for NSC, watching catchup on iPlayer or 4OD, watching films, playing music...

You can "sideload" some good Android apps onto it also which makes it even better... as some people have said, depends what you are looking for and what you would use it for, but mine was £150 and well worth the cash.

To be honest, she'll only use it for checking facebook, browsing the web and i'll probably stick a load of films onto it for when we go away.

Then personally I don't think you can go wrong... next time I go on a long drive with the little-un I will put cartoons on it for him to watch - I could get a bracket so I can put it on the front passenger headrest too which is inexpensive... I was lucky that it was given to me as a birthday present, and I had ideas of what I would have wanted to do with it, and now keep finding new things I can do too... very happy with it, and I wouldnt have got an iPad for the present as it was so much more expensive!

I got one. Think it's good, and well worth the very cheap price.

Well made, good performance, decent usability, and has an hdmi out port which I wanted.

It's a no brainer for the money imo.

Had one to play with for about an hour, which was long enough for me to determine I really did not want one, but I probably tried half a dozen techy type things and was not impressed.

As the op said for a handful of simple tasks, it could be just the thing and I have far more time for people who are prepared to look at alternatives rather than thinking everyone needs the latest/greatest and most expensive device out there.
