Sounds like a job for our old chum the soft drink bottle - with half of its origional refreshing contents tipped out & topped up with cheeky spirit. That'll fox 'em. :thumbsup:

Where are we drinking in Walsall ?

The only place I've been in Walsall is that king George gaff near the ground, it's nothing special so I reckon have a couple in brum town centre beforehand. I've never been into the town in Walsall so couldn't say what it's like mate.

well if you drink shorts mostly (like me) then conceal it in a coke bottle or other :whisky:

It's the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985.

This prevents:-

• drunken entry into a football ground (which, in practice, to be an arrestable offence includes disorderly behaviour);
• the consumption of alcohol within view of the playing area;
the consumption of alcohol on certain coaches, trains and motor vehicles travelling to a designated football match;
• the possession of fireworks or flares.

The ban applies to the whole train, regardless of the reason for the journey.

As far as coaches are concerned, there is effectively a condition attached to Operators' licences that requires them to comply. If they don't, the coach company could lose its licence and be put out of business.

Following from Lord Bracknell's post (and instead of starting a new post) I am hoping someone can advise if it is an offence to drink alcohol as a passenger in a car?
There is a dispute at the moment between friends with a small wager on the outcome.

Very much doubt it, googling 'is it an offence to drink alcohol as a passenger in a car?' gives many forums where it has been asked but no definitive answer

Perfectly legal. But they can refuse you admission to Villa Park if you turn up pissed.

Cheers Jim. I was surprised when I heard it, and I very much doubt it either. I will let my mate phone the local old bill if he wants to take it any further!

They have to designate you. So technically they could designate "Mr Hillbilly's car" and then you wouldn't be allowed to drink. I've heard before of it being done on minibuses.
... except there is no legal duty on Mr Hillbilly to tell anyone that he is driving his car to the game. A licensed minibus operator is required to notify Aston Villa and comply with designation orders. And an unlicensed minibus operator or driver isn't allowed to charge passengers to travel - so is probably committing a different offence.
