The history states that "ludicrous and insulting anti-football diatribe" has been removed.

Well done to whoever edited the entry.

This is what it said previously:-

Bill Archer is a modern day businessman who is responsible for creating the hugely successful FOCUS DIY LTD empire.

In 1987 Bill Archer and another former business partner acquired Choice DIY. A small DIY company with 6 stores in the midlands and the north. In 1988 the FOCUS DIY company was bought by Archer and all stores were re-branded Focus DIY.

Between then and 1998 the chain rapidly grew to 72 stores nationwide.

Bill Archer has been portrayed as a penny pincher by some. Most notably he has made many enemies with his role in the buy-out of Brighton and Hove Albion football club. This was regarded by many as very disrespectful, having realised the value in the Goldstone ground (the home of BHA FC) and selling it onto developers for considerably more than the price paid for it.

Whilst some cannot admit to the fact this Archer is a fantastic businessman, and would rather drag his name through the mud all because their pathetic football ground no longer exists, the truth is, Archer should be admired for taking nothing and turning it into a highly profitable reality.

Those who disagree and feel they would rather spend their days moaning about how their not-so-fantastic football team no longer has a permanent ground should wake up and realise, this is business, the real world. Not some stupid little game.

Bill Archer, what a legend.
