I need to learn the basics of Motorbike riding, don't need to pass the test. Is there anywhere you can get a one off lesson to just teach you the very basics of riding? Cheers.

Place in Haywards Heath near the station lets you hire 125cc bikes by the hour and they give you a crash course on how to ride it.

Excellent that sounds like the ticket. Thanks Bristol.

I would suggest doing the CBT (compulsory Basic Training) i did mine on a saturday, its a day course costing about £75-£100 dependent where you do it. i started with a bit of playground riding in the late morning and then in afternoon spent a couple of hours on main roads. Been riding now just over two years and I love it (except snowy weather isn't much fun!!). The main test has changed since I sat mine but at least the CBT will give you an idea whether you want to proceed to the main test. I believe you need the CBT to ride on roads anyway on a 125cc with L-Plates, and the certificate lasts for two years, which at the end you either do another CBT or hopefully will have passed the main test by that time. Well at the moment I just need to look fairly competent on a bike, however if you can do CBT in one day, may as well do that while i'm there. Cheers.
