Something similar happened to my brother when he was up on Islay.

Came round a bend on his bike, hit a sheep standing in the middle of the road and broke his collar bone.

He was flown to the mainland by RAF helicopter and operated on by a surgeon called... Mr Lamb.

Was not invoiced for damage to the road, but was billed for the cost of a sheep by the farmer.
