If we expanded the Amex to 35k or so and got promoted we could be top 15 or so in the country.

Really? Could we expand to more than 35k, say 40k, and be top 10?

The number of empty East Stand (south end) seats for this year's play off was a bit of a damning indictment. We probably have 112,435 'followers' across the 2 counties, of whom just over a quarter will come and watch us live on a good day. If we're on TV (playoff) expect the Battle, Crowborough, Stonegate and Chichester massives to watch it in the pub, rather than come to the ground.

Thats a precise number, where did you get that from?

Where are you getting these numbers from?

It's an ages old calculation the club use to tot up matchday attendances at the Amex. Take the population of Lewes, multiply it by the population of Southease, subtract the population of Buxted and you're there.

Very scientific and precise:bowdown:

Perceptions in football id say out of all 4 divisions we are about half way ie small club champs , reasonable size league 1 .

If thinks stay as they are fir a decade then perception would move to mid champs

It depends how you define big,

In terms of training facilities, stadium, fan base and potential we are top 15 in the country.

In terms of club history, trophies etc we are about 35-40 in the country.

In terms of fan base we are again the 10th best supported club in the country (as we were in 1980). Quite astounding for a club who have played its entire history in mostly the third tier, with only one major national honour in 1910 plus a losing FA Cup final appearance and having lost around two generations of support with Gillingham and Withdean. Whether that makes a big club is subjective but one thing is for sure, if the club ever did get some success then prices will rise unless they can increase the ground capacity. Then there will be some moaning!

Like all championship sides, pretty big. If you think about it we are in the 2nd tier out of 24 tiers, which is pretty good.
