The REMF golf day is today, Woodingdeangull has obtained the ball, he has a captive audience at the dinner tonight after the golf, so that's where he hopes to sell it. But, because he is a decent bloke and wants to raise as much money as possible, he's come on here to offer it in case there is someone here who might want to pay more for it.
As some of you have so intelligently said, it's not a Brighton item, so at least he is doing his best to get the message out to as many people as he can to realise the best price he can.

What you've said is correct Phil. I was told yesterday by one of the regular REMF golfers that a member of his 4-ball was bringing a football signed by the current Chesea squad. I thought it would be a good idea to open up the bidding to a wider audience and so for the four hours from 8.00 pm to 12.00 midnight it was on this board. The only sensible bid was from N1 Gull. Unfortunately, this board is also visited by those who mistakenly think they are very witty but actually make tits of themselves. Until this morning, I hadn't actually seen the item, but when it did arrive at Mid-Sussex GC, it was accompanied by 40 individually autograped photographs of the full Chelasea squad, including Torres, Drogba, Terry and Lampard, and, most importantly, a full authentification certificate from Chelsea FC.
If I'd seen this soon after Chelsea became European champions, I would have put the ball on e-bay and probably realised something in the region of £1,000-£1,500. We did, however, raise a healthy £225 from one of the golfers, which has helped to swell the REMF coffers.
I would imagine that 90% of NSC posters know that REMF posts are genuine and are trying to raise money for REMF, so why we get some of the stupid comments that have been posted on this thread is beyond me.
