Can you lot genuinely not see the point of the greatest black player poll and the programme that inspired it?

This response is just reactionary racist nonsense.

I haven't seen a racist comment on here yet fortunately. But this thread begs the big question of who would win an England Black IV v White XI?

and who would the sides be?
what would it be like on the terraces?
who would win?(Black methinks)

Actually Brixtaan back in the late 70s or early 80s they did actually play a Black England v White England match for charity. (I think it was at Selhurst Park). This was when Alex Williams was the goalie for Man City and somebody worked out that it was now possible to field a team with black players in every position.

I'm not sure what the score was and I don't think the experiment was repeated. Can't think why.

back in the days when 'gollywog' comments on national tv were the norm.

On the subject of unrepeatable sporting events...

At the end of the 1886/87 England cricket tour of Australia, the squad played an exhibition match at Melbourne.

SMOKERS v NON-SMOKERS

It was a three-day match which ended in a draw, with some amazing scores:-

Non-Smokers 803 all out
Smokers 356 and 135/5

:)
