Looked earlier and the cheapest I could find Euston to Stoke return was £26.

Train station at Stoke isn't really walking distance to stadium. Best to team up and get a taxi from station to ground for about a pound per person (city cabs is the best company..student based so cheap) the fawn is the nearest pub to station (out of main exit, turn right and walk to main road) other than that there is a wetherspoons in a 5 minute walk away, harvester and pub very near stadium (quite often trouble in there with locals) Parking is quite good at stadium if driving.

Went to uni in Stoke so any other info people want let me know

There are buses laid on from the train station to the ground. Come out of the station, turn right, to the end of road turn right, under the bridge, over the bridge, turn left and just down there by the church. Seems complicated I know with all the bridges etc but its about 5 mins walk and a good safe service and easy to follow once on the ground. Just don't drink in the pub opposite the buses as it is full of our more, shall we say, easily excitable fans. If you have read the Stoke City hooligan book called " naughty" then basically that is where they all meet before a game so avoid at all costs.

I seem to remember once getting a taxi from Stoke on Trent station to Port Vale and not being very impressed with the number of cabs waiting there for business.
