not sure about London being "absolute tops".If thats the case why is everyone i know working there to save enough money to get the hell out asap?

Because there comes a time when you are not interested in using the facilities that London provides to any great extent and feel you can get more out of life by moving your family into the sticks. That is my reason for wanting to get out anyway, but I'm in no hurry. However, if you have to live in a big city in order to earn decent cash, I can think of a lot worse places to live than London.

Nice to see some positive things written about brighton for a change.

It's a great place to live good pubs, good clubs, cinema's, live music venues, restaurants, BHA, Sussex CC, theatre, comedy, dance, the beach, decent shops and all wrapped up in a nice town sized package that doesn't take three hours to get across.

I'm originally from London (which is also a great city), but the quality of life experience here is miles better and much prefer living here.

It has its inevitable down sides aswell but so do all major towns and cities.

reason i voted brighton over machester ,liverpool and london 1)i've never been to manchester 2)i've only been to football grounds in london (or west end shows) 3) same with liverpool (only done anfield) 4) brighton is quite a nice place 5) nobody cares about you byf!

For someone from Brighton living in Leeds I would vote Brighton. At least in Brighton there are some real classy clothes shops, the like of which are not in Leeds.
You have the sea, I would love to be able to walk along the beach with my dog (and so would he for that matter).

If you don't like the sea you have the south downs with it's scenic views etc.
The best football team in Britain play at Withdeane, there are some top clubs and bars throughout Brighton.

The birds are well up for it, the ones I have met anyway and they are classy and well fit too.

I could go on but I should be working....When I have the right funds I shall be moving back!!
