According to Yahoo, Top scientists vote 'Bladerunner' best sci-fi film ever.

Personally, I think Bladerunner is the best film ever
What's your pick for top sci-fi movie of all time?

It'd be between Alien, Aliens, Terminator and The Matrix for me.

Does Dune count? If so I choose that.

I never quite manged to watch all of Dune. I always found it to be rather slow paced and ended up doing something else when I've tried to watch it. That blue eyes thing is kind of creepy though.

Yep..... Bladerunner by a country mile, but in second place if I had to choos another one, would be a cheesy early sci-fi called the Omega Strain, wierd but you just have to watch it.

Not suprised that Blade Runner came top, it's a cracking film. Personally I'd have Close Encounters, 2001, Silent Running, Twelve Monkeys, Dark Star and Alien there or the abouts.

do you mean 'Omega Man' - Charlton Heston v Zombies

or

'Andromeda Strain' - Scientists v rapidly mutating space virus - that doesn't affect old drunks with stomach ulcers?

2001 Space Odyssey. No zip zap Star Wars bollocks just a great film with a storyline that is thought provoking rather than a heap of special effects on a completely shit script.

Omega Man was pretty good too as was the original Planet of the Apes

And in one of those stranger than fiction coincidences this is my 3001 post

Alien and Aliens were both cracking films. Best sci-fi horror films certainly.
I also liked the recent Minority Report which, coincidently is also based on a Philip Dick story (as is Bladerunner).

"Night of the Comet" from 1984. Just bought it on DVD. What memories.

Okay so it's not the best sci-fi film ever but it's a lost classic
