Will always be for me this one.

(Madness - Los Palmas 7)
Superb.

This one is a stand out choice for me.. Bluetones' instrumental opener to their "Return to the Last Chance Saloon" album.

The Best Instrumental?

It's got to be 'Dark Star' by the Grateful Dead, from the Album 'Live Dead'. If you're unfamiliar with 'The Dead' they were a improvisational psychedelic band from San Francisco who formed in 1965. They were at the centre of the 60's counter culture and the house band for the 'Acid Tests' that were held in San Fran when LSD was not illegal.

'Dark Star' is a musical journey into outer/inner space where nothing is left unturned. There are some lyrics but the majority of the track is instrumental. My introduction to 'The Dead' was at friends house in 1970. After a night out we went back to his place for a smoke and he played 'Live Dead' - I was hooked straight away man!

In fact, my avitar 'Acetripper' is taken from the nicknames of the two guitar players. Jerry (Captain Trips) Garcia and Bob (Ace) Weir. Far Out!:flameboun
