the best restaurant in brighton & hove is the REGENCY fish restaurant, by a country mile. fantastic food, and very brighton.

Ok if you want a cafe type meal and surroundings but could never in a million years be classed as an up market restaurant to compete with the best.

Current fave is Okinami on Church Street. Great japanese.

Went there last weekend - thought it was pretty good.

Mascara is excellent for North African food.

No.
All. Italians. Are. Shit.

They'll charge you the thick end of a tenner for some pasta shells smothered in cheese sauce and a sprig of parsley. Or they'll give you a crappy thin based pizza thats no better than a £1.50 jobbie from Icelands, and charge you another tenner for it.

They don't even let you do your own PARMESAN for fucks sake.

Im not gonna argue with that

brighton, actually
for food- latin in the lanes (Kings Road, just off East Street)

for atmosphere- China Garden or Dig in the Ribs, with a large group and plnety beer.

for price- All nite diner?

apart from the AND, the others were treats from former bosses.. glad I didnt have to pay!

oh, forgot Donatellos- bets avoided when busy (esp Xmas)- they cram people in, and you can hardly hear yerself speak..

otherwise OK nosh for the price.

best kept secret- Blind Lemon Alley, at top of Middle Street (mind your head!). good burgers, wings etc, and a very relaxed atmosphere. usually tasty waitressess, too!
