Didn't Chris Brass (?), ex-York manager, score a brilliant own goal playing for Bury earlier this season: went to do an overhead kick about 8 yards out from from his goal, but the ball smashed him in the face and went into his net instead. Harsh, but very funny!

Me - Washington Rec many years ago. Our eeper kicked the ball out, I was on the right touchline just inside the halfway line. Had a man challenging me from behind (ooh err) so decided to control it on my chest and volley it back to the keeper. Flew into the top corner and my keeper never got close! Best goal I ever scored - shame it was at the wrong end.

Wayne Hatswell is one of the best for me

In the good ol' days of 1978, an Oldham player lobbed his keeper from 25 yds to give us a 1 nil win on the lush green pastures of the mecca of football - The Goldstone.

I can't remember his name but remember the look on the keepers' face as he stared back to the masses of the North Stand 'kop' jumping for joy.

Get in.

I'm not sure about the best goal but don't worry if Kerry Mayo gets another own goal.
He's score three in his career but we've never lost the match.

No one remember Ian Chapman's comedy own goal against Leeds circa 1988 ?

I was just about to post that one!! Low dribbling cross into the box, Chapman with loads of time to spare in front of the North Stand went to take a touch but it bobled and hit his shin and dribbled into the net from about ten yards.

I think in the same game John Crumplin scored and injury time equaliser to make it 2-2.
